You know,. the names songs had before they were on releases, that the artistys changed after releasing the songs? It's easy! Dicuss this issue, having in mind that The Great Gig In The Sky was called The Mortality Sequence.

i believe Echoes was originally just called 'Epic' or
somesuch.
The working title is a common enough device -
albums suffer from the same thing
Division bell was going to be called Pow-Wow for a
while, which was David Gilmour's suggestion until
Douglas Adams pulled out one of the lines of lyrics
and gave the band Division Bell as the title - I always
said Gilmour wasn't the most creative force in the
band but Pow-Wow - Jeeeez!!!

in storm thorgersons book, mind over matter, he says that roger waters told him the title of their 1971 album over the phone with a very poor connection so that they could hardly hear each other. So the final vinyl cover was produced with the title "meddle" yet rumour has it, this was not the intended title of the album and storm misheard roger over the phone, yet they decided to keep it anyway.

well something like that anyway, aint read it for yonks.

The original title of Brain Salad Surgery was something along the lines of Do Ya Want Some Skull?

"Mister Fripp, your music is quite different than everything else out there. In one word, how would you describe it?"

"Progressive.... yeah, that's it..."

Among the most famous, The Beatles' "Yesterday" was originally called "Scrambled Eggs."

Nowhere have I ever read that about Echoes  but I do know the entire Meddle Album was originally titled Nothing, parts 1 through 24.

I'm pretty sure Sheep was originally called Raving and Drooling, and Pigs was also known by a different title - they were both played live by Floyd sometime around '75-'76 (as immortalised on the b**tleg Ommayyad, and I'd really like whoever nicked my copy in 1982 to return it please).
