i have never been a big Crimson fan and always a huge Floyd fan, but I think 'Easy money' is amongst KCs best, so I picked that.

Money is probably one of the most average, uninteresting songs of all time. I'll have to go with the absolutely awesome Easy Money.

Voted for PF, though "Money" is not my fav song by them. "Easy Money" is undoubtedly good, but not really among KC's best songs IMHO.

Neither, the Root of All Evil by Dream Theater is a better song about the Root of All Evil.

I considered adding a tie, but then I thought it would just dominate (looks like I might have been right).
Oh well. At least my lads aren't getting slaughtered as bad as I thought.

Money, for me. Both are great, though.

I'm not a big fan of "Easy Money", so "Money" it is.

Money - is a great symphonic song, with two great solos, whereas Easy Money is one of the weakest songs of the Larks' era IMHO

Mentioning King Crimson's "Easy Money" and Pink Floyd in one context is interesting, since ( pay attention) King Crimson's "Easy Money" musically always reminded me of Pink Floyd's "Childhood's End" (track 7 from Obscured by Clouds), check it out.
Now, choosing one from the two (judging only music, not text) -- "Easy Money". With all its (relatively) "poppish" melody it's still more interesting than "Money".
Or, maybe, I'm just tired of Pink Floyd?.. |
Easy Money poppish!?!? well, only in comparison to other '69-'74 era Crimson tracks!!! after the solo-improvisation parts in the 4th - 5th minutes, the intro to the last verse (about 6:54) is just killing!!
if you're just tired of PF, so am I ... until I got tired of this, too, (apparently not in the near future ) I shall always prefer King Crimson to other popular "brands"...

Listen to Turkish psych/prog; you won't regret: Baris Manco,Erkin Koray,Cem Karaca,Mogollar,3 Hürel,Selda,Edip Akbayram,Fikret Kizilok,Ersen (and Dadaslar) (but stick with the '70's, and 'early 80's!)

Note from Mr Pedantic: it's actually the love of money that is proverbially the root of all evil - as it is not a conscious entity, money is in and of itself incapable of good or evil; it's the ways in which it may be used that can be judged morally.
Anyway, both great songs, although I have to go with Floyd on this one. Palmer-James' adolescent sexual fantasy of a lyric lets down what is otherwise a pretty good King Crimson song.
