What have you been listening to on your portable player - MP3, Walkman, iPod etc?
Personally, I've a Sony HD Walkman. Today I have been listening whilst gardening to After Crying - Show Alive Again : The Breathing Shadow Part 4 - Nightingale Alone - Clepsydra Alpha - Asia Alternative 4 - Anathema Amarok - Mike Oldfield. I was going to start this thread last week but couldn't get round to it. Last weekend I started back at the beginning of my album list. 12:5 - PoS A Change of Seasons - DT A Farewell to Kings - Rush A Handful of Earth - Salva A Momentary Lapse of Reason - PF A Murder of Crows - Dead Soul Tribe A Natural disaster - Anathema A Pleasant Shade of Gray - Fates Warning A Song for all Seasons - Rennaissance A Story Two Days Wide - Illuvatar A Street between Sunrise and Sunset - Satellite A trick of the tail - Genesis Abbey Road - Beatles Accelerated Evolution - Devin Townsend Actual Fantasy - Ayreon Aerire Fairie Nonsense - The Enid Most of my listening is getting to work and back As you'll have noticed I just play my albums in alphabetic order by album title. I listen to other sources but this thread is just for music whilst outside on the move. It'll take a few months to scroll through the rest. Later |

Hi Jared
Just been doing some research for my next purchases. Looking at The Gathering's latest, Home, and How to Measure a Planet next. Did think about Agalloch after the review posted today but not sure with the growling. Pity as the music sounds great Aye, great time sorting out my compost - got to keep the vegs happy! Great to hear from you. I posted something to you last week but can't remember where I put it. Senility I guess. |

I had a nice little PM from you; many thanks Rob. I went out and had a look at a couple of Castles today while the weather was nice (Raglan & Goodrich if you are interested...)
I am waiting for Green Carnation's new one, Devin Townsend: Terria and Therion: Vovin thru the post at the mo, having just received 4 or 5 other newies, so I'm happy at the mo!
I feel the same way about Agalloch actually, though I might give them a try sometime... The Gathering are also on the future purchase list...
btw, my Bro In Law would approve of the Epica... he loves them! (Or should that be her!!)

What did you reckon to Goodrich Castle? We went there a year or so on our way down to the Forest of Dean. A fairly unusual castle tucked away on the Wye. Totally unexpected and recommended.
Today I have been finishing off our garden water feature listening to Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman Howe Angels Fall First - Nightwish Animals - PF Aqua - Asia Aqualung - Jethro Tull Areana - Asia Aria - Asia Trouble with this way of playing my albums is I listen to most of Asia in a short time. Anyway folks, feel free to recommend any album in the A's |

Goodrich is a great day out for all the family...
of course, you could always flog your asia albums; then you wouldn't have that problem...
... and I'm sure someone would gladly pay 29p each for them on ebay...

^^ fair's fair, I was just looking through that cracking good collection of Cds you've mentioned... respect.
...shame it has to be compromised by the mention of Jabberwocky in your signature...

Sorry I couldn't get back yesterday. Kids monopolising the computer for homework. And I didn't use my Walkman yesterday but I did listen to Arena - Contagium and The Gathering Souvenirs (twice)
Any way today I listened to Ashes are Burning - Rennaissance Asia - Asia Atom Heart Mother - PF I quite like Jabberwocky in a sort of jolly way. But I think it is time I changed my listing and brought it up to date |

I have an iPod Nano, the 2 GB version, which means I don't have room for much, so I change albums pretty often.
Today I have listened to these albums on it (in this order): Rush - Hemispheres Queen - Sheer Heart Attack Van der Graaf Generator - The Least We Can Do Is Wave to Each Other |

Well what an awful couple of weeks this has been. First I had a fatal error in my computer and had to rebuild it, then my ISP had a couple of off days. So instead of having a daily entry there's been a big delay. Any way I've been listening to quite a lot since my last entry
Aura - Asia
Awake - DT
Band on the Run - Wings (not prog but I like it now and again)
Basnie - Collage
Be - PoS
Beat the Drum - Pallas
Before became After - Proto-Kaw
Believe - Pendragon
Beyond Daylight - Spock's Beard
Billion Dollar Babies - Alice Cooper
Black on Black - Andre Andersen (of Royal Hunt)
Black Sabbath and BS Vol 4
Balckfield
BSS - ELP
Brave - Marillion
Breakfast in America - Supertramp
Bridge - Everon
Bridge over Troubled Water
Celestial Entrance - Pagan's Mind
Century Child - Nightwish
I've got a couple of train rides tomorrow so perhaps 4 albums in a day.
Anyway if anyone has got any recommendations in the A's and B's gratefully received.
TTFN

I only use my clunky Creative Zen Xtra 30GB (it's my baby, though) to listen to music.
Today I listened to: Revolver Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Abbey Road All by the Beatles (I was on a Beatles marathon). |

I have a Sony CD Walkman which I take with me practically everywhere I go (thus successfully shutting out the sounds of urban life around me)...
I've been working through the various artists section of my collection. On my last trip into town I listened to the following albums: Heat (soundtrack) Dead of Winter 2006 (Metal Blade sampler) Headbangers Ball (Volume 1) Napoleon Dynamite (soundtrack) |
