Topic: Elfonia subgenre Posted: October 16 2006 at 23:50 |
They don't have the metall vibe iny opinion and from reading their interiews thay are inlfuenced a lot by post rock so art rock for me they have a more experimental atmospheric vibe. Post rock might be too far I think.

I only know Elfonia because of Marcela Bovio's involvement in the Human
Equation by Ayreon. She has a beautiful voice, especially on Day 13:
Sign, I ordered Stream Of Passion's album off the internet today so
hopefully enjoy more of her soon.

Hahaha, that`s a good idea, in an interview to a magazine Marcela clasified Elfonia as a progressive rock band, but no subgenre was mentioned at all...
See you later in the concert!

QUOTE=memowakeman]
Hi people:
I have noticed since long time ago, but i remembered it today`s afternoon, that the Mexican band Elfonia is categorized under Prog Folk, i own their 2 albums and i can say that only a few of their music has some folkish roots and influences, the point is, that i`d like to know your opinion (of course if you know the band) about it, im pretty sure that they dont belong to Prog Folk at all, they are closer to metal, but also im sure that they dont have the necessary arguments to be categorized as prog metal, people compare them usually with The Gathering because of the voice, but actually the sound is quite different i think...also i have though that maybe a better place to them could be prog related, or maybe Art Rock? (send them to micky )
Thanks for your comments, also i `d like to make a poll in the prog polls section about which subgenre do people think Elfonia should be, but only if in this thread nothing is solved in the near future.
Again thanks
[/QUOTE]
I have quoted myself from a thread in the collabs zone, as not much people know Elfonia, im making a poll here, and please give me some replies about what genre do you think Elfonia shuld be under...
Thank you guys!
