These 2 Rush albums seem to get a lot of flack or at least overlooking by fans, but I love both of them....anyone else?

Here are my track by track rankings of each album on a scale of 0-5 stars (5 being the best)

Presto:

1. Show don't tell ****1/2
2. Chain lightning ****1/2
3. The pass *****
4. War paint ****
5. Scars ***1/2
6. Presto ****1/2
7. Superconductor ***1/2
8. Anagram (for Mongo) ****
9. Red tide (4:30) ****1/2
10. Hand over fist ****
11. Available light *****

Roll The Bones:

1. Dreamline ****
2. Bravado ****1/2
3. Roll the bones ****1/2
4. Face up ***1/2
5. Where's my thing (Part IV of the "Gangster of Boats trilogy") ****1/2
6. The big wheel ****
7. Heresy ****1/2
8. Ghost of a chance ****1/2
9. Neurotica ****
10. You bet your life ****

OK...so neither one ranks as high as stuff like AFTK, but I think they are both solid late 80s early 90s albums that I really enjoy listening to frequently....

Agree...disagree?  Discuss....

I think Roll THe Bones is the best album they did in the 1987-1993 period, with three consecutive piece that are very good (Dreamline, Bravado, Roll The Bones).

Presto isn't modest, but isn't too great.

I'm not overly fond of Presto, but Roll the Bones is wonderful.

Both very good albums. Took me years to accept Presto for some reason. At the time it sounded very weak to me. The 'tinny' production didn't help. I love 'Show dont Tell' 'The Pass' and 'Available Light'

RTB, has some high points too. 'Ghost of a Chance' is a top 10 Rush song for me. Neither albums are from the bands best era, IMO. I prefer them both to 'Hold your Fire' though
Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

I think a large percentage of Rush fans like HYF so I didn't feel it needed an appreciation thread ;)

I think presto is probably Lee's best album vocally, I really enjoy it for that reason. As for Roll the Bones the first 3 tracks are 3 of Rush's best from that era (Bravado, Dreamline and Roll the Bones) all very very good, the rest of the album isn't bad either

Presto, overall is a good album. It's a little different than anything Rush has done so I think it's unique in that matter. As for RTB, it has some essential classic Rush tunes (Bravado, Dreamline, etc) but I feel it's a bit too top heavy. It starts out very well for the first handful of songs, but quickly goes downhill after that.

Both are decent. I think the production of 'Presto' is so glossy that it does it little favours- Geddy Lee himself disliked it, I think. 'Roll The Bones' is a bit better on balance, though. The title track aside, I like all of it really. That said, I'm afraid I'm one of those fans that prefers the '2112' to 'Moving Pictures' era anyway.

I like "Presto" very much. I don't know "Roll The Bones" though.

How convenient, and pretty amazing too, of all the albums in the world, I was just listening to Presto and Roll the Bones after it from the Rush playlist on my laptop computer! After fresh listening experience, I can say that both albums are ok for me, even though not among their very best. (Which is exactly why I was listening to them. Unlogical? I was listening to them, because I ignored them a bit when they were published.)
I think that The Pass, Presto and Available Light from Presto and Bravado, Where's My Thing? (Part IV, "Gangster of Boats" Trilogy) and Ghost of a Chance are among the best Rush tracks since A Show of Hands live album/DVD. (I tend to think of Rush's career in periods between their live albums: 4 albums + a live release and a somewhat new direction.)
One more point, I rank Where's My Thing as an equal instrumental to La Villa Strangiato, YYZ and Broon's Bane. (Leave That Thing Alone! from Test for Echo is fantastic as well. I wish there was an instrumental in each Rush album.)

I much prefer Presto to Hold Your Fire. Prime Mover is about the only track on HYF that I enjoy on a par with most of what's on Presto. Red Tide and Available Light are two of my favourite 80s Rush tracks.
