Alain Renaud

Yesterday I went vinyl-shopping, and my record dealer said that he’d found something that was right up my alley, it was a record by some French guy called Alain Renaud entitled ‘Out of Time’ from 1976, on some obscure label called ‘Urus Records’, the dealer presented it as being gong-related which is probably most of all a ‘sales trick’, but I see what he means, there are certainly some humorous aspects about the music. I have never heard of Alain Renead before, but judged solely on this record, which is essentially guitar orientated fusion of high technical calibre, and most certainly ‘prog’, he seems a very legitimate addition.
