I'm not sure whether to get this new game, I've been debating it because I've heard mixed things about it, specifically the battle system.

Your thoughts?

I think it's pretty awesome and well worth the wait. It's the reason I haven't been around here much since it's release. It's very different than FFX,and the new battle system and some other things took some getting used to,but I am extremely happy with it.

I haven't even heard of it, and it seems I've missed FF XI too. Shocked

FFXI is an MMORPG(Massively-Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game).

It was the first MMORPG that you could play from either a computer or a console.

It can be if you're not equipped well enough. It's easiest to do leveling up when you have a guest in the party (makes it a lot easier to kill enemies).Wink

The bosses are actually difficult and the game can be very frustrating (starting all over in a dungeon is a bitch, why not start at the boss instead of the whole beginning?).  I like the battle system, but I wouldn't say it's my favorite.  The story and characters seem good.  It's lacking the "FF charm", or at least so far.

All in all, it's good so far... but disappointing (I'm only 13 hours in though).

I'm about 23, but I've spent a good 4-6 hours of that just training.

I haven't played since last Friday.  Something tells me I won't be playing this game seriously again until Summer. LOL

When I first got the game and popped it in the ol' PS2 I played it for 10 hours straight in my first sitting.

Meh, I live in Europe, so I guess I'll have to wait another year for the crappy PAL release?

Final Fantasy XII Square Enix TBA EU
(according to GameFaqs)

This is rubbish! TBA at this point usually implies at least a year of waiting.
