I just read a rumor that stated that Johnny Depp has expressed interest in portraying the late Syd Barrett in a bio-picture.  Anyone heard of this?  Is there any weight to it?

I think there was a thread about it. If the movie is being made, I think Johnny Depp is perfect for the part.

I agree on that sentiment.

I just searched using the forum searching and Google search and couldn't turn up one hit for Johnny Depp anywhere else on Progarchives.  So... I don't think there's already a thread about it.

I agree Depp can bring the intensity and is one of the few (maybe the only) actor who can pull it off but isn't he a bit old?

I'd still like to see it but it seems like just a ruomour.
