But I mean true POP music, not rock pop like U2 or stuff like that (which by the way could be decent), but true POP as in Jackson, Madonna, things like that.

YES
I have an agreement with my secretary, she can play her ballads and POP music for one hour a day and when I'm in the court or with a client whatever he wants with the condition that she won't complain for my music.
So when I stay in he office all day I am forced to listen that....today she was playing Thriller 
But I'm educating her, he got addicted to Peter Gabriel's Secret World Live until it really bored me, now she's trying Kansas, but still she doesn't like anything except Dust in the Wind and getting addicted to Santana.

I'll probably be stoned to death now, but in fact I like Madonna's Ray of Light album a lot. On the other hand, I can't think of any other true pop artist (maybe a cotradiction of terms there, hahah) I like, according to the way that you define pop, excluding bands like U2 (and I imagine my other favourites R.E.M., The Smiths, Morrissey, Simon & Garfunkel and such as well).

Interesting, Ivan! I have a similar process with my wife, trying to educate her to like at least some of the prog rock I happen to like. So far she likes some Pink Floyd, Marillion, Genesis (but unfortuntaly the pop stuff more) and acoustic Jethro Tull. We even agreed to go to see the current Acoustic Jethro Tull gig in Helsinki, but too late, because the tickets are all sold out by now.
Also, I forgot to tell that in fact I like some of the Thai pop my Thai wife regularly listens, that's much better than the Western pop ballads she likes too.

Well I like some simpler POP like Cranberries (Specially because Dolores O'Riordan's amazing voice and Ferglar Lawler's mad drumming style), Fleetwood Mac (Buckingham and Nicks era as much as the artsy Peter Green's but they are already a classic) or OMD and a couple more.

The closest to pop I ever get is when it jumps out at me from behind the guise of a prog album... At which point it is usually banned from me ever hearing it again.

Someone once called Benedictus (Strawbs - Grave New World) as a well constructed POP tune.
If that's true, then I do listen to pop...
If that's not true pop (which it can't be, since it's good), then I reiterate: No, I don't listen to pop.

I don't really like pop but hear alot of it because my wife loves the stuff.
IMO the best pop album ever made was Toy Matinee's self titled(and only)album.TM was a duo consisting of Kevin Gilbert and Patrick Leonard and the songs,musicianship and production were superb.
