Sometimes I feel weird when, at 28, I still video-game and am like a child when it comes to getting something new: excitement, hours of play. But then I say, this is OUR GENERATION's source of meaningless entertainment, so I guess I'll be playing till the end of times (because there's a rumor I will actually live till the end of times).

What do you think?

Mmmmhhh.. interesting question

I was a true hardcore gamer in my youth, but my time was more and more taken by my studies, spent with friends and doing other activities...

And I prefer playing old games.

So I begin to lose more and more interest on video games...

Well I've been playing PC games for the best part of a decade and I can't see my interest waning as I view games as an alternative to sitting in front of the TV, just another form of entertainment and one I prefer to others, I don't understand the attitude about games only being for kids either as a large percentage of the games I own are too complex for children.

I was part of the original video game generation. Remember when every mall had an arcade? I had several different home systems. I gave up after Play Station. I don't do much gaming any more. However, on occasion I can be seen at Pinball Pete's playing Donkey Kong.

Although I'm only 17, my interest in gaming is much smaller now than it was say 5 years ago, and I don't see it getting any bigger in the future. But it's a very individual thing I think. Whether one will stop gaming when growing older depends on what type of person one is and what occupation one has, I believe.

I'm just about 20 and, for some reason, video games almost don't interest me anymore. I don't know why because I'm still a child at heart. This summer for example, I took my Legos out and I've built a statue. That was a lot of fun. I also play DnD with some older people and I really enjoy it.

I think I've left the video games because most games that come out now don't interest me.

RIP in bossa nova heaven.

Well I'm 32 years old, now I'm married, have two daughters, my job is a serious one (cardiologist)... and I still enjoy the same with new video games. I'm sure I will keep the same when I'm 64 Big smile.

I can imagine myself being old, still playing games.
Hell, I might end up working for a video game magazine.

Haha, think about what happens when all the gamers get old.  Can you imagine an 80 year old playing a violent shooting video game?

I was always a sucker for the Games Workshop boardgames (anyone for a game of Talisman or Space Marine? ); occasionally, I'll still have a game of Warcraft III or Shogun on the PC, although if I do play computer games, I generally prefer games like Civilisation or SimCity.

On the whole, though, I usually stay with two of the oldest boardgames around, namely chess or backgammon (with the occasional frantic game of Scrabble thrown in for good measure).

I'm coming up to 44 & do not intend to stop playing games anytime soon.

I think over time I'll play them less and less, (I already do now). But I am sure once in a while I still will. I know friends of my Father that play Xbox once in a while still.

when I'm forty I'm going to attempt to game 25 hours a day. I was thinking about getting a fitted suit and striving to sell something useless or maybe starting a family, or going outside or tidying the house or working on my interpersonal relation skills but none of those feel as good as pure bubble bobble injected directly into the vein.

I'm 18 and never started. From what I see around, most quit in their 20's, but there are some who play forever and there's nothing shameful in that.

I just play a bit of counterstrike, madden nfl, fifa etc casually, that may never go.

But I'll probably never play seriously like I used to on diablo 2
