Has anyone any opinions on this French Electronica band, just lately with the release of their new album 'Before The Dawn Heals Us' they have been mentioned in a lot of Britsh music magazines as being very prog.

Ive downloaded three tracks and they sound like a more pretentious version of Air meets krautrock. I'm impressed and will buy the album.

Infact NME ,not that id take a lot of notice but...they say that M83 first album Dead Cities, Red Sea &Lost Ghosts embarked on a trip to the darkside of Paris, where prog is not a four letter word!  Then when describing the new album they say maybe prog is the last bastion of rebellion in rock.... Hmmm never sure if the NME are being ironic or not

I bought Dead Cities when it came out.I read the

intrigued me.I wasn't dissapointed.Great album.
PROGTRONICA.

Me too. I love M83 to bits and I picked up 'DeadCities...' in a record shop in Toulouse last year.

Much more electronica than prog IMO but worth a listen if you like your music a little more left-field than most.

Ive just heard the track 'beauties Can Die' from that album its got a bit of everything in there, very atmospheric and lots of minimal instrumental bits, weird deadly silence in the middle then wonderful build up droney ending.

I love this band!

I like the way they break apart the vocal sounds and re-arrange them to form new melodies.
