Am I a fan-girl??? I don't think so, I do know a LOT about certain bands and musicians...... but that is because of my work.
(I work for a label) But other bands I like...... nah, I don't own complete (inc bootlegs etc) of anyone else, I might know a few snippets of info about their persoanl lives, but not much, and only bits I read in interviews/articles etc. Nah, I don't think so. (I am opinionated though....... does that count?) |

Well...
Gentle Giant... I own all of the eleven original albums, about ten or maybe more (haven't counted until yet) bootlegs, both DVD-Boxes, the double CD-Box "Under Construction" with unreleased material and the 4 CD-Box "Scraping The Barrel", I have read the entire booklets, the lyrics and most of the stuff on their Homepage, want to order the band's calendar... So, am I a fanboy? I guess yes. But this band has something magic, I like their entire catalogue, there exists no song I do not like. I guess it is the loving playfullness that makes this band to such a special one for me. |

Any band you hop on airplane to go see you have to be a fan boy right? But I don't own everything by Kansas and I don't care if I see them again. Actually if I was a fanboy it would be to Kerry Livgren and whatever project he is doing. Proto-Kaw's closest concert to me was 1500 miles away so flying was required. I know where he lives but that is because it is the same place he records and he puts that on his records and he wrote a book a long time ago so I know about certain aspects of his life. I don't know his birthday. He does recognize us when he sees us and he is no longer afraid
But still yes... Edited by Garion81 - February 12 2007 at 18:15 |

I was a Supertramp fanboy back a few years ago. I have cutted down listening to them since I have so much other music to listen to right now though, but they still remains my favorite band.

I'll stop now. But you can't forget your past... it's made you who you are and I don't think anyone here would want that to be different. |

I'm a bit of a fanboy where King Crimson and Robert Wyatt are concerned but I don't let it rule my life.

Well, I guess I'm following in my father's footsteps... but we own every Marillion album, loads of live albums, sevaral bootlegged shows on CD & VHS, and three official DVDs. Still, I don't think I'm a fanboy... Fanboy just sounds so negative! I'm not really rabid or anything. The band just makes good music.

I actually read three books about Pink Floyd, including Inside Out. I'm so ashamed. At least it helped me to appreciate the music more.
