Topic: The Great Stand Up/Air Conditioning Conspriacy! Posted: February 12 2007 at 00:44 |
I wonder if that's enough options.
Anyway, I'm thinking of an early progressive minded album that kicks things off with a hard, bloozy numer. Throughout the album you find a folksy, ethnic tune, an instrumental classical/rock fusion, and various hard-soft numbers with fuzzy tones throughout.
I'm not talkin' bout Stand Up Willis! I'm talkin' bout Air Conditioning, Curved Air's debutt albume. It has become clear to my obsessed, little mind that Darryl Way listened to Tull's second album before creating his own.
I mean, think about it! Stretch=New Day Yesterday, Blind Man=Fat Man (they even got the name!), Vivaldi=the Bouree! They just substituted violin for flute.
Now, there is a slight, slight, slight possibility that I'm wrong. That I am, in fact, totally off base. However, I created this theory early on enough that it will probably stick with me forever...and, uh, ever.

When I go watch stand up, I prefer the club to have air conditioning, but I hear there is a conspiracy to remove air conditioning from all stand up comedy clubs. Dammed Republicans!
