Yes IT IS true ,you have the reason, Joropo is folk or folklore.thanks for remember me the correct word, and I know country but not really the pure pure folklore of USA and Canada.

Hang on there is plenty of Folk music in the state which does get unjustly englobed in country music. There is Cajun/Acadian , Bluegrass, Appalachian Folk and a few more, which I don't regard as "country" music. All of these are East of the Mississipi valley rooted.
The artist you speak here do not have any link with Seeger, Guthrie or pre-John Wesley Harding Bob Dylan. All these on your list are direct descendants of Bob Dylan's, The Band and The Byrds (after that awful Sweetheart Of The Rodeo album) country rock and maybe Hank Williams . But country music is plainly based on the Country & Western (which implies west of the Mississipi) and imply the whole "Cow Boy" routine, which I find very irritating. These artists are generally very conservative in their text/Lyrics and a few of them are retrograds (although this applies mostly to male country stars).
PS: Outside of some Lynrd (a lot of that Southern Rock hgolds very close to Country)and Eagles, I dislike most of that type of music, partly because this type of music is forced on you and there was no way of escaping it.

Western is a great movie genre about people in the far old west... country is an awful music genre about people dreaming they still live in the far old west...

check out the Blues Brother movie where they get to this club and the owner says that they are open minded and they both play Country and Western 
Western was mostly used for country that came of the western part of the states and often included sitar (Hawwaiian annoying stuff) or pedal-steel (that's the irritating side of Steve Howe's contribs to Yes).
In other words, C&W is more annoying and retrograd than country.
