Topic: Maiden, Metallica or AC/DC Posted: February 21 2007 at 16:59 |
Of these three bands, which do you prefer?
I always dismissed AC/DC as being simple and straightforward rock, but now I´m starting to realize it is "great" and "uplifting" simple rock. Yesterday I bought "Back in black" and "Let there be rock" These albums still sound so fresh and raw!
So, my vote goes to AC/DC

In order, my favorites are :
1. Metallica (their 80s' and debut 90s' albums)
2. Iron Maiden (eerrrr.......their 80s' and debut 90s' albums too )
3. AC/DC
For me, the third metal band of the 80s' is... Mercyful Fate !!!

Well, as loved as they are, Metallica can't hold a candle to either AC/DC or Maiden.. they just don't have the class, sophistication or seasoned musicianship the other two bands possess. For quality heavy music (not prog), I choose the kings of power; AC/DC.

I'm a bit surprised that as of this post, AC/DC is leading. I'm expecting Iron Maiden would get this one. Not much of an AC/DC fan, I chose Iron Maiden.

For me AC/DC made only 2 masterpieces. Metallica and Iron Maiden four.
All of their new releases aren't that important. They all had their time.
Iron Maiden for me though.

Iron Maiden for me - much more consistent than Metallica, who in my opinion only released four great albums (I think the Black Album is one of the most overrated records in the history of rock music, but that's just me). As to AC/DC, I recognise their worth, but I've never been a fan of theirs.

Count me in.
One good reason is because it is poppy compared to Master of Puppets and ...And Justice for All. I'm not sure, but I think that album landed them in MTV and launched them on top of the charts. Sell out album.
C'mon you Irons!
