Bach is probably the best composer ever
King Crimson wrote the first mature prog album

Personal history:
Yes is my favourite band
Jethro Tull is one my earliest musical memories (an older brother of mine bought the hitsingle Bourée and the album Stand Up)
PFM is probably in the near future my favourite band ( I keep listening to them, more than I listen to Yes)
Rainbow is maybe the first band I ever saw live
Pink Floyd did the best concert I ever saw in my life (Momentary Lapse Of Reason tour)

Good post!  Nice approach. Clap

Thank you! Big%20smile

Oh, such an interesting poll.....my top 10 all time musical greats would be (in no particular order):

Yes
Beatles
Led Zeppelin
JS Bach
Keith Jarrett
John McLaughlin (including Mahavishnu)
King Crimson
Steely Dan (inc D Fagen solo stuff)
Pink Floyd
W A Mozart

...from your list Mandrakeroot I'm torn between Bach, with his wonderful structures and melodies; Beatles, THE "pop" band who shaped music like no other; and Yes for doing some of the most wonderful music I've heard. If I had to choose? Well my "desert island disc" would be Close to the Edge so it's going to be Yes....
