I just heard the new RUSH song "FAR CRY' and I think it's a little better than I
thought it would be. It seems to be a combination of the older classic sound,
with that occational HEMISPHERES guitar chording and a few time changes.
With 13 tracks on this album I hope there are more original ideas to make this
one of their better albums in many a years.

I just listened on rush.com.  I must say that I'm very excited to hear some new material from my favorite band.  I was expecting something a tad different, what with the mellotron rumors floating around, but I am still very pleased

I like the new song a lot.
One likes to believe
In the freedom of music
But glittering prizes
And endless Compromises
Shatter the illusion
Of integrity

I'm not convinced, but the rest of the album may be much greater. Never know.

I heard Far Cry,  the full thing ..  I didn`t give me what I hoped for I`m afraid to say , but I`m an honest with myself Rush fan  who has noticed in my 25 years of liking this band many Rush fans like to convince themselves into things that are not there. I wont be buying this CD when it comes out intill a hear a few more tunes I made a desicion after Vapor trails not to "Rush" out and buy Rush anymore untill I hear it first,  and I certainly wont be persuaded by the Rush fanboys and their glowing reviews  (half the time posted before the CD is even due to be released)   Smile

And to put it scathingly, their latest single is a statement of the obvious, and reads, "we are dinosaurs."

Sounds better than anything on 'Vapour Trails' sounds better produced/mastered too. I'm looking forward to hearing the album.

I'd like to hear them vary their sound a lot more than on their last two albums.
Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

It reminded me of Counterparts more than anything else.  I didn't find it all that interesting.  I will probably take a wait and see approach as well.  I thought Vapor Trails was just awful!  (I will say this, I agree with Blacksword that Far Cry sounds better than anything that was on Vapor Trails.)

Me too.  And the more I listen to Far Cry, the more I discover subtleties in it... and appreciate it even more.  And this is the song they chose as a single ?  Can't wait to hear the rest !
