And the GENESIS fans will vote for cinema!! even if it would stink!
And the YES fans will vote for awaken!! even if it would stink as well!
so it's going nowhere! they're both good anyway

Love them both but Awaken may be one of the best tunes Yes ever recorded.

i second that...polls like this are just popularity contests, and rather silly at that. when i was in grade school, there was a month when dozens of people went around asking "limp bizkit or korn?", the answer didnt matter, at least not in regards to musical merit, it was only a social question. how is this different? were it a one-of-a-kind poll then it'd be different...but its not. ((no im not attacking this particular poll...just expressing annoyance that this is the type of poll i see most often))

Awaken is more like annoying. Cinema Show on the other hand is great.

People are also fans of both bands I believe?
Anyway, I find it very difficult to choose, both awesome pieces. I think though that Cinema Show slightly edges it.

Yep, it is possible to be a fan of both bands.
Cinema Show is brilliant, but the climax of Awaken is one of those prog "goose bumps" moments.

It's got to be Awaken - as good as Cinema Show is, it doesn't have the same range of sounds, moods and ideas as Awaken. Rick wakeman reckons it's the best of Yes's long pieces, and you can't argue with the caped crusader!

Had to go with Cinema Show today, but I'm sure if Yes was more into my rotation lately, it'd be Awaken. It just depends really, on my mood and which versions of these songs we're talking about. Now if you said Seconds Out - Cinema Show VS Keys To Ascension - Awaken, I'd have to go with Awaken because the extended intro/mini-solo by Wakeman is just beautiful, but on the other hand... Bruford's drumming on Cinema Show is amazing too. I'd think over-all, I'd go with Cinema Show because I enjoy Banks' solo and the drumming, studio and live versions, by Collins. I think it's pretty much the quintessential classic Genesis song, next to Musical Box and Supper's Ready, and it's shown in the fact that the band played it well into the 80's, even just the instrumental section. -Marc.

Awaken is way better. I don't much care for Cinema Show, and Awaken is really good.

I'm almost sure I read that Jon Anderson was of the same opinion. This is how I see it too, and I voted for "Awaken", but I have to mention these two are my favourite from each band.

"Awaken", of course.
"Cinema Show" is dull, to my ears, as also other Genesis songs are.
