Topic: Jeff Beck Debate Posted: April 09 2007 at 19:25 |
|
I don't know if this has been discussed before. Jeff Beck is not a part of PA. He should be a part of jazz/fusion. IMO he is the best. I feel at least the big 4 should be a part of PA - Blow by Blow, Wired, Live w/ Jan Hammer and There and Back... I could be crazy but I was very surprised he was not listed....... WHAT DO YOU THINK?

I love Jeff.. he is one of my top favorites (you must see him live) and I would be happy to see him in PA. The issue for some, perhaps, is that he wasn't truly a jazz-rock guitarist. More like heavy blues. He would surround himself with good jazz players and made some great (maybe breakthrough) records, but he technically is not 'jazz rock fusion'. But maybe Mr Heath will chime in.

Not enough of his repertoire for J/R but he should be in Prog Related because of it. With some of the other additons how can we not?

Jeff Beck should certainly be here. If for Blow by Blow if nothing else...

There was another thread on the same subject on Page 2, and we don't need multiple threads. For this reason I'm going to close this one and refer you all to the other, which I have already bumped for your convenience.
