These three are my least favorite metal genres: I hate nu-metal, with Korn, Limp Biskit, and the others. That's why I can fully love Tool, as somehow (weirdly, I agreeEmbarrassed) they remind me of that genre. Deftones' first album was good. Industrial metal? Atrocious. I can't take Ministry nor "poppier" versions of industrial rock as Nine Inch Nails. Hair Metal? A disaster. But I would pick it as at least some songs in this genre had melodies.... I don't know.... what do you think? Tongue

I love NIИ, a lot. A whole lot. So I guess I;ll vote for that even though they're neither metal nor poppy.

Hair metal... Skid Row are great, the rest sucks I agree.

Nu... some consider RATM nu metal, I don't think so but if so, that's my one exception,  hate stuff like Slipknot and Linkin Park.

You gotta admit that this is masterliness though:

fav of your least fav... easy...

loved the hair metal....  gave hope to us aspiring musicians in the 80's that lack of talent  with good looks can get you places... I had too much talent.. and not enough looks though.. so I ended up as a footnote in the pages of musical history.

It was fun... if you were around and didn't do those unison stage moves that Poison did in the mirror with your bass...  you simply weren't living...

never got into Industrial.... other than Ministry.. .oh man Psalm 69....  wow... I LOVE that album

I cannot take Nu-metal seriously as a genre of music.

Industrial.

And bashing Hair Metal and Nu Metal, genres which have "BASH ME" written all over them, is simply conformist.

From what I've heard from the genre, Industrial Metal by far. But there is some NuMetal and Hair Metal that's capable of sparkning interest in me, if only for nostalgic reasons.

Dude, slap me but did you just put saosin in with fall out boy, I love saosin and saw them live, Its a guilty pleasure for sure.

Anyway I voted industrial metal because I am a huge fan of Godflesh and NIN though I can take or leave Ministry
who hiccuped endlessly trying to giggle but wound up with a sob

I really can't say I like any of those genres enough to have a least favorite. I may like the odd industrial, hair or nu metal band here or there, but that's usually about it.

Hoobastank are the most un-metal band ever, nor are they emo in any way.

I suppose Nu Metal, although Industrial is probably more interesting (but I've heard very little from it).

Hair metal, for, after all, rock n roll is all about attitude...
-music is like pornography...

sometimes amateurs turn us on, even more...

30 seconds to mars, fall out boy and mcr aren't metal... They suck though, but not because they're "emo", simply bacause they write boring music imo.

Anyway if Deftones is considered nu-metal then i would go with nu-metal, but there are some really crappy nu-metal bands out there like linkin park, korn and especially limp bizkit. However i consider Deftones more like alternative metal/rock.

I like NIN but i really haven't heard much from the industrial genre. VAST is considered industrial sometimes though, and they're great..

Since i consider hair-metal to be one of the most horrible genres in music ever, the choice is between nu and industrial.. Industrial it is

i dislike industrial metal but one of my favorite bands is Fear Factory, they created something unique, the machine gun type of riffing is awesome, there should be more bands like Fear Factory (first album of SYL was a FF clone, Mnemic is very FF-ish,  new metalbands are copying the machinegun riffs, that's great!
nou... mag ik het niet nog een keertje overdoen?

Hair metal. Not for the metal, but for the hair.
