All I know is that John Simm is Mr. Saxon. I've missed the last three or four weeks of episodes, unfortunately.

Maybe it's the Valeyard.  Actually, now that we're up to Doc number 10, at some point they may have to deal with this continuity nightmare. Although that made for a hell of a climax to Trial of a Time Lord.

Ah excellent, a Doctor Who thread! Been a fan for around a year now and I do love the series, especially the 1970-81 era.
I may as well have my top 10 in order, actually;
Tom Baker (I love his full bore performances, ranging from real gravitas to out and out ham- THE Doctor, imho)
Jon Pertwee (love the Venusian Karate and his often insufferable pomposity- 'Inferno' is my fave story thus far)
Patrick Troughton (shame more of his don't survive- they are a joy to watch)
Sylvester McCoy (imho, McCoy is excellent- I love the 4 DVDs I have, haven't seen any more though)
David Tennant (wasn't keen on last year's series, but imho this year's series and Tennant himself is excellent and the two part 'Human Nature/The Family Of Blood' was a stunner)
William Hartnell (well I don't watch these ones as much, to be honest)
Christopher Eccleston (had they concentrated even more on the darker side of his character, he would have been higher)
Peter Davison (found the companions almost all unanimously irritating in his era)
Colin Baker (haven't seen that many of this era but I find his performances to be a bit OTT sometimes)
Paul McGann (didn't like that TV movie at all...and that's all I have to judge him on)
As for favourite companion?? Lalla Ward aka Romana II, no question...Tom Baker certainly agreed, he married her (albeit briefly...)!

Out of all the Doctor Who series past and present my absolute favourite has to be Tomb of the Cybermen. Absolutely fantastic.
A mention has to be made to the BBC Radiophonic Workshop,Delia Darbyshire,Dudley Simpson et al.
Without their input the the whole thing wouldn't be...well...Dr.Who.
R.I.P. Delia Darbyshire.

'Tomb Of The Cybermen' is very entertaining, yeah- I haven't watched that one in a while. The best of the Troughton ones I've seen is 'The Mind Robber'- has a wonderfully wild and wacky plot.

Favourite companion - Wendy Padbury I've got the DVD of Mind Robber.Very entertaining. They didn't skimp on props in those days.   Mind Robber  There is a more risque shot but I might contravene PAs rules.

^Yes I was going to point out that infamous scene in The Mind Robber. That whole story is so wonderfully, knowingly daft you simply can't help but love it.
McCoy and Sophie Aldred are a good team, imho- 'Ghost Light', 'The Curse Of Fenric' and 'Survival' are all first class, imho. I know a lot of fans tend to really criticise McCoy but on the evidence of those (and 'Rememberance Of The Daleks'- though my fave Dalek episode of the 80s is 'Revelation Of The Daleks'; a macabre masterpiece), he's one of my faves.

As I said earlier, McCoys later. darker stories are great. his earlier stuff though......well I hated his performance really.

It seems that th1e stranger is The Master (after a converstaion with soneone in the know) But ultimately, time will tell as to who is correct.
