Total agreement! A symphonic prog band as essential as KK Mark I, Genesis, Camel and other of the same period of time (IMHO).

They suffered a lot from poor distribution. That explains mainly the relative obscurity in which they remained (Even in Brussels, 200 km away from their home country, it was extremely difficult to find their records).

Song of... and Atlantis are two strong, original sounding symph prog records. With its eponymous epic, Song of... is a prog masterpiece that deserves at least 4 stars.

Classical! If it is possible, I would suggest replacing the streaming number, which is not one of their best, with "Storm and Thunder" taken from "Song of..." album. Proggers addicted to symphonic (like me Wink) could much better discover the band.

like them alot.  Music with a lot of depth and good vocals.  I have a box set with 3 albums on I can't remember how many CDs, plus some rare outtakes and B sides.  Song of the Marching Children is the best but Atlantis, To the World of the Future and Gate to Infinity are all at least good.  Off the top of my head

Song of... ****

Atlantis   ****

To the World  ***

Gate to Infinity  ***  ( a bit discoey but still good)

I have the same cd   "Earth & Fire - 3 originals Plus B-sides".   It's on 2 cds.   Only cost $20.   Worth every penny.

Atlantis is their masterpiece, by far.

I also like Song Of The Marching Children, and they had some pretty good hit singles throughout their career. But Atlantis is my favourite, one of the best albums I heard in my life.

The first three albums are all brilliant, but their début remains my favourite. It's just such a strange blend of influences - a fair dash of Jefferson Airplane, a hint of proto-Abba cheesy Europop, a touch of heavy metal and elements of early prog, all very amateurishly played, with all kinds of weird ideas thrown into the mix. "Vivid Shady Land" is especially outstanding - opening and closing with ultra-heavy guitar riffs topped off with incongruous, pop-ish soaring vocals, then giving way to a dreamlike, almost ambient middle section. Sheer genius!
