I've chosen uncle Paco; he doesn't need to pick the guitar to play as fast as Al di Meola or as skilled as McLaughlin.... with his bloody fingers, he can do everything with his acoustic guitar (not electro-acoustic). Amazing!!

All three super skilled but I think that McLaughlin is more successful in his explorations.  He just seems to go more places with his guitar playing than the other two (that's not say the others are bad not by any strech of the imagination).

you might have added Coryell who replaced Di Meola sometimes.

Much better when he was around.
let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

Sorry, but did you mean "better" or "favorite"?
