That's the one that hooked me, waay back when.  And if you haven't checked out Manzanera's recent stuff, shame on you!

There's still this undated post on his site that is at least newer than November 2005:

"Roxy back in the studio

The band has spent a productive couple of weeks in the studio recording some new material, described by Phil as 'exciting, for a proposed new Roxy Music album. More details when we get them."

Roxy Music - one of my personal best group (doesn't matter prog or not).
Bryan Ferry has unique, great voice and I love his solo stuff equally.

In  my opinion Brian Eno his contribution to Roxy Music is a bit overrated, I prefer Eddie Jobson his tasteful and varied keyboard arrangements and his exciting work on the electric violin, BUY THE CD VIVA! AND THE OVERLOOKED DVD MUSIKLADEN 1974/75 (including John Wetton) Clap

Roxy Music is usually discussed in terms of their eras, Eno and post-Eno. Their most progressive (i.e. experimental) work was with Brian Eno on their first two albums, although Stranded and Country Life are very well-received for the post-Eno era. Like most fans, I prefer the Eno era, but I thought their sound evolved wonderfully through the years after Brian Eno left leading up to Avalon.

Earlier work is my fave,particularly Country Life...was lucky enough to see them twice in 74/75,best part was Eddie Jobson's amazing key/violin work...

This is very simple; ROXY MUSIC was good for the first album to the last one AVALON.
 
FLESH& BLOOD and MANIFESTO  more commercial??? so what??? it is still VERY good! I am not that elitist to reject anything  that got on the charts as long as it's good, and that's very good!!!Thumbs%20Up

I love the first two album, brilliant electronics and guitar-playing as well as great songwriter and an overall creative atmosphere. Stranded and County Life are pretty good, I need to give them more listens. I can a lot of krautrock in Roxy Music's sound. Any thoughts?

Stranded is excellent, but be sure to try the first two though.

Though I like quite a bit of Roxy Music now and then I wouldn't go as far as calling them art rock. Maybe artsy, but that's it. Sometimes I wonder where they would have gotten to if Brian Eno had stayed in the band.

I only got Stranded so far, but it's really a helluva album. The first side is practically flawless ("Just Like You" is gorgeous, but "Psalm" is my fave), and the second side ain't no slouch neither (the opening of "Mother of Pearl" proves they can rock, and the sax on "Song For Europe" is fantastic).

Well... The Mandrakeroot's PA team (Mandrakeroot, Ely78 and Lady In Black) are very grateful that it someone is us that it loves the Roxy Music! 

Proper while we returned from the sea we are listened to ourselves the tribute that I (or Ely78 I don't remember because PA didn't accept the format of cover and so... we experienced with the other account and other program...  Before to notice me that it was too large size!!!)  introduced in PA.  I should say that I prefer the true Roxy Music.  But also those of the trubure aren't badly!

I am a huge fan of the early Roxy Music, great adventurous and captivating blend of several styles with excellent musicians and a singer with a very distinctive voice. My favorite is the live album Viva!, in my opinion Roxy Music at their pinnacle featuring outstanding work on the electric violin by Eddie Jobson, especially the solo in Out Of The Blue. If you want to witness this, check out the DVD Roxy Music Musikladen 1974/75, I also recommend the compilation CD The Early Years Thumbs%20Up

Roxy Music is my all time favorite band.Everything up including Manifesto,is great,and yes they slipped.
I love Ferry's voice.
No one sounds like them.Pulp tried on a few songs but no.
The DVD live at the Apollo is indeed a trip back in time with STYLE.

Brilliant band. Up to Viva that is. The first two are my favorites and highly original. They don't get nearly enough praise here.
Fantastic songs like If There is Something, Virginia Plain, Do The Strand, Editions of You, In Every Dream Home a Heartache and The Bogus Man.
 
After the first two they became a bit more mainstream but there still are some beautiful songs.  Street Life, Psalm ( why not on Viva?) ,  A  Song for Europe ( why not on Viva? ), Mother of Pearl, Out of The Blue and many more.

Thumbs%20Up A great band. I've enjoyed them since the mid 70s.
 
I'd highly recommend their "Live at the Apollo" DVD to all true fans -- a terriffic show Clap (see my review).
