Topic: Best Atomic Rooster cd. Posted: September 14 2007 at 02:41 |
I think it is "In Hearing Of". "Death Walks Behind You" has more standout songs, but for whatever reason I feel more satisfied after listening to "In Hearing Of".
What about you?
I would be interested to see if any one likes their later material with the other vocalist (Farlow?) or the reformation from the 80's.

Death Walks behind you for me. Not just the best AR album, one of the best albums of all time.
In Hearing of and the 1st LP would come in as a close joint 2nd.

In Hearing of is their best, followed by Death Walks Behind You. Their debut is so bad that I found myself laughing out loud when I listened to it.

I've only heard "In Hearing of" and "Made in England", but I definitely prefer the former.

Made in England had a lot of great songs, but I thought that some really poor string and brass arrangements brought it down.

I've got both "Death Walks Behind You" and "In Hearing of". They're both great albums, though the latter is less immediate than the former, which in my humble opinion is one of the absolute masterpieces of Heavy Prog. A fantastic band, too often forgotten.

I often ask myself this same question, end up listening to the first three albums and exclaiming satisfied after each audition "This one must be it!" Not like everybody else around, I seem to like the first one just as much.

The first one is ok, but I do not think the quality is as high. The vocals are not that good, but still allright.

The Crane,Cann and Palmer line up i saw live supporting the mighty Uriah Heep' were a great unit. Tomorrow Night and The Devil's Answer were super 70's singles.Album wise my fave is 'Death walks behind you'

They only have one good one, their second. That one should be as big as Purple's In Rock, but alas such is fate. The rest explain their 3rd tier status on rock tours in the 70s.
