Of course, everyone will read most of their favourite albums' booklets, and not much of the booklets of albums they dislike, but, on average, how much do you read?

I try to read the whole thing, just to see if there are any amusing stories involving personnel or song creation.

I read the whole thing, but not on the first day I get the album. I read most of it one day, a little another day and so on until I read it all.

I think I'll go with "I just quickly glance over it, reading bits here and there" in the same day I buy the album.

Every last word including the credits and thanks, even I have no idea why - I mean who cares that the band thanks everyone who ever said a nice word to say about them, I still read them (what am I looking for? my name to suddenly appear? "No mention of my brother Gjalt again, but a big thankyou to darqdean for buying all my albums...")

However, it really bugs me when the text is really small and in a dark colour so you can't actually read it.

I stay in the Cinema until the last credit rolls by too. Embarrassed
What?

^^woa that's dedication.  I usually begin reading the booklet (if it's in English of course)  assuming that there is one, but if it's long I usually get anxious and go listen to the damn thing (attention deficit disorder? you bet!).

On average I'd say I read most of it. If it's an album I really like or am interested in I usually read the whole booklet, but in some cases I just glance through it.

I'm more interested in the artwork, frankly.  I might glance at the lyrics if they are posted but I feel like the pictures and/or drawings should set up the mood.

I always read the articles about the band or the album that usually come with remasters, and often bands put cool stuff there themselves. Crediths and thanks usually too, there are some nice jokes in them sometimes Lyrics I'd rather look up online, easier to read.

Very true

[But some bands' lyrics are extremely hard to find]

This is pretty much how it goes for me as well.

I don't read them immediately, but eventually. Yes lyrics make for good bathroom reading. LOL

It depends on the content. I won't often read the lyrics, but the history of the album/band found in remasters and best ofs I always find myself reading.

I also often read which member of the band plays which intrument on which track, as well as the equipment each member of the band uses.

i switch between the first two options, I read and looked throught the whole of the FOABP booklet [i got the special edition with large art section] and then I only skimmed through the meshuggah booklet for contradictions collapse and none which i bought the other day. It depends on how much I love the band

for researching and writing about music, some notes are great sources of information..  and much more likely to be written by or quoted directly from a band member, and therefore as accurate as you will find
