Yeah, I'm anticipating their new release.

Though, I'm not sure what they'll do without repeating themselves, so hopefully they'll be able to make it interesting, while still staying true to themselvse.

I'm disappointed - neither of these players are avant-garde!

I honestly don't think they have that sort of pressure put on them. Honestly, whatever they write will sell, and wherever they tour will sell out. I can definitely feel a new release coming from them soon, and I think it will sound like whatever they want it to sound like, and it will probably be great.
I can strangle a canary in a tin can and it would be really original, but that wouldn't save it from sounding like utter sh*t.

Having followed Sigur Ros activity for most of 2007, I am aware of the forthcoming releases particularly the Icelandic DVD and the two disc compilation.  Also, the soudtrack to the film released  two months ago I believe.

I thought Takk...was amazing.  And now Sigur Ros are releasing dvds, and comps while theyre at the height of their powers.  I'm looking forward to all the releases, its just im more excited for a new album.

So, where does Sigur Ros stand in the relam of post rock?

Are they still at the vanguard?

Are they experiencing more pressure to release an album as sucessful as Takk...?

Discuss.
