I notice that the top 100 list is removed from the frontpage. Why?

But more importantly, now there's no way to list more than 100 albums. The links for the top 250 and top 500 were removed at the same time. I found the top 200-500 just as interesting in terms of finding ideas for new albums.

However, there's probably an easy way to write the adress code directly. You can add ?year= or ?id_style= or ?album_type= to categorize these lists and I seem to remember that a similar approach allowed me to define the number of albums. But which code? Neither ?number= or ?nr= or ?amount= or ?list= worked...

Thanks, I can read the web adress :-)

The point was, you can add to this adress in order to narrow the lists down, i.e.:

...but what for the amount of albums listed?

does for example not work.

Hm... silence... Nobody knows, or nobody cares...? I had honestly expected this to raise some concern, since there was a whole lot of discussion about whether or not to include Proto-Prog and Prog Related on this specific display of the list.

IMHO there should be an option that allows to exclude protoprog and prog-related from the TOP lists.

Simple answer is I don't know. If people miss it, let me know and I'll ask M@x.

As was mentioned, there still a link to it on the home page.

Hi Bob,

Yes, I am missing it as well.
There are plenty of space on the right hand side column to get it back.
We could also get rid of this "List of available RSS feeds" and get the top 100 (or more like Dresoc has mentioned) instead.

Top 100 by genre was also interesting. I copied the link to reach it (at least I still can get there) but it would be easier to be able to access it directly.

It is interesting when you want to appraoch a new genre that you do not know (in my case Kraut or RIO).

I believe that instead of deleting interesting features (at least for statistical information) we should add some more (like the 0.5 rating - what about that one ?).

So, yes : could you please ask Max if we can get it back ?

It's not that it's very exhausting to make that extra click, but I'd assume that the top 50 list was one of the main attractions of this site, thus making it natural to include it on the front page.

Unless of course someone has decided that it attracts too much attention.

One more thing changed: the list of 100 most prolific reviewers is listing only fifty, without a scroll bar; but the title still displays "the list of 100..."

So I guess the changes are not permanent.

I'm also missing it...It's an essential element of the front page I think...no reason to delete that!!! (On another foot and off topic...PLEASE get back to the algorithm used before!!! That at least showed some changes in the top sometimes, now it's pure statics... and I think it was fairer with respect to the number of entries than this one...)
To be the one who seeks so I may find .. (Metallica)

I came to this forum today to see if people were talking about this. I look at the top 500 pretty often (I realize it can be looked at by typing URL). I don't think I can think of a good reason why it would be taken away. Checking out an album from the 500 seems to have a higher likelihood of the album being good than checking out an album randomly from the thousands of artists on Prog Archives. Smile

I'm very disappointed that the top 500 is gone, I got a lot of good albums off it.
