I received this message from this musician from Myspace:
Assaf,
I have a few bands that I am trying to get into prog archives. Please check out www.dynamitevision.com for more info - the most relevant bands are Rabbits Hat, Census of Hallucinations, Peter Ashby, Barry Lamb, Krom Lek, Whens the future. If you need me to send some CD's please let me know. I will be away in Turkey & Greece from Nov 1 - Nov 12 so i will deal with your response when I get back. Barry The second message was:
Let them know that I will be happy to send promo's to anyone who might be suitable to review any of the CD's. We will happily link back or anything like that.
Barry I am not sure where it can fit, though at some points Electronic Prog came to mind, at others Psychedelic but overall I am not sure if it is indeed progressive.... But I promised him I'll pass on the word and ask my fellow collabs, so please have a listen to those variuos projects and say your opinion. So, for those interested here are the links to their Myspace:
Census Of Hallucinations - http://www.myspace.com/censusofhallucination
Krom Lek - http://www.myspace.com/kromlek1
The Rabbit's Hat - http://www.myspace.com/therabbitshat
The label's myspace - http://www.myspace.com/sixarmedman
Not sure where all this can fit.
Electronic, Post-Rock and Psych teams? Other teams (Eclectic, X-Over etc)?
Have a listen.

Very very Interesting...
The Barry Lamb was excellent, I liked that a lot from the 1st listen. Not an obvious fit for Xover but could see him in one of the more specialist subs like Electronic ... I'm not sure where "Experimental" lives now as I don't see this as Post or Math Rock
Peter Ashby - not as immediate for me, but I do like his voice and the more I heard the more I liked it. The music is very eclectic and at times beautiful, but not obvious as to where it belongs. My initial reaction was RIO, Jazz-rock... Psyche maybe... I don't think we have a category for this. I'd like to hear Logan or Rico's thoughts on this because I'm lost.
Census Of Hallucinations - not my cup of tea, Psyche or Xover maybe, but I need more samples if Xover is to be considered.
::Gah!!! the Guitar Hero banner add on MySpace is really Pee-ing me off!::
Krom Lek - sounds like Psyche, just not too sure if it's Prog enough, if the Psyche team reject then Xover is a possible with more samples - two songs wasn't enough.
The Rabbit's Hat - they sound the closest to Xover's pop-prog-ethic but sorry I'm punch-drunk now and I'll have to check these out another day Edited by darqdean - December 19 2007 at 14:36 |

Wow, good job on going through all of them, Dean. I only got around to Barry Lamb earlier, and thought it best for Electronic based on the samples. I loved the music. I was definitely planning to check out the others when I have time, starting with Peter Ashby.

This is great. Thank you very much. The vocals remind me slightly of Swans.

Incidentally, while I heard questionably, so-called, Prog elements in Peter Ashby, I decided to vote yes for Eclectic. The music is difficult to categorise, and I had to listen a few times before feeling comfortable enough to vote for it in the chart. Good music. Gave me pause.
