I'm sure you've seen this amazing footage of Magma performing De Futura on French tv in 1977. I've watched all of the Magma footage available on youtube. I was wondering if anyone on this board knew where I could locate a real copy? I realize there's the '81 Bobino DVD but I'm more interested in their earlier lineup.
Youtube provides an amazing service, but it's so compressed and crappy looking. I'd love to be able to watch it on my video projector. Who ever has this footage should really be selling it I think. Any tips? |

Presumably you mean whoever owns the copyright in it should be selling it.

Not to be controversial, but I really don't care. If C Vander can't get on the ball to release the footage then bootleggers should do it. It's the same story with the Brian Wilson's Smile archive. If it had been up to him, the last nearly 30 years would have been totally without a glimpse into those sessions. The same goes for all the live footage and forgotten albums that have surfaced because of blogs and youtube etc... The only crime is hording this stuff and not making it available. That's speaking from an indie musician's point of view.
