Reviewing the Black Mages currently. Final Fantasy is my favorite series of all time...and I am a huge RPG fan. Own about 100 of em'. So which games is your favorite.

Personally, I'll go with the most underappreciated FFIX. This game had the best story out of all of them, nice balanced system and the job one, I hate when you can make a character do anything, makes it a loss of their personality in my opinion. Most importantly, an impressive musical score.

Hopefully like popular gaming sites, FFVII doesn't win because it was usually the first and only most have played. Overrated and cliche game if you ask me.

X, but I never finished any of the others except XII, so my vote is kinda unfair.

Still, that's one of my favourite stories evahhhh.

The only problem: it still is Final Fantasy, sometimes less is good.

I still like VI. VIII and X weren't too good. I haven't played XII. I've played and beaten all the rest. VII is often overrated in my opinion. IX is often overlooked, I would agree. It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad. Zidane isn't a whiny Schlampe like his immediate predecessor and successor are.

FFX is reason I still haven't played FFXII, really. I'm tired of the flat-as-a-board, foppish teenage protagonists whose raisons d'etre seem to be brooding over adolescent banalities. Recent FF characters are, to put it bluntly, not the slightest bit compelling.

By the way, good to see another RPG fan here. Played The Witcher yet? Smile

//EDIT: Why can't :) just automatically become a smiley?Dead

The Witcher?...I am unaware of that.

Currently playing Lunar, just beat Secret of Evermore and Suikoden III.

I never played through the Lunar series -- kept meaning to and never got to it. I didn't care for Secret of Evermore.

The Witcher is a PC RPG from a Polish development house based on a series of short stores by a Polish author. It's quite good. Still, the programming isn't perfect, and it can be rather temperamental at times. If you don't have a capable system, it won't be very kind to you.

IX because it was the first I had played and its childlike storyline was just so funny and amazing, I also thought it had the best characters (except mabe VII)

I wasn't too impressed with XII, it had some really big shoes to fill. That said it was miles ahead of that "X-2" sh*t
who hiccuped endlessly trying to giggle but wound up with a sob

6, 7, and 10 are the only ones I've actually completed.  Not sure which is my favorite, either 6 or 7, but 10 has a lot of great aspects as well.  I might have beaten 8, but I really can't remember.  If that one had a decent battle system, I think it would have been a lot more fun.  9, I just rented once and never really got into.  12 was pretty difficult and got to the point where the story was so uninteresting, I didn't feel like mindlessly leveling up.

I'll vote for nine; it has the best dialogue.

FFX for me.I loved the story, characters and enviroments,Spira was incredible. It also had a killer mini-game that was damn near a game in itself...Blitzball.

I never got heavily into FF until later on in the series,I prefer Dragon Quest myself.

Sorr PC just isn't my thing. Secret of Evermore was just a decent imitation of the Secret of Mana series. Lunar seems like a classic PS gem that was forgotten about, I like it a lot.

If I remember correctly, the PS ones (Silver Star Story and Eternal Blue) were originally Sega Saturn games.

And if you don't like PC games, what do you think of Septerra Core? Wink

I know the first Lunar game is, not sure about the second one.
Isn't Septerra Core a PC game as well?

Yes, it is, but it's also basically a console RPG. Battles are turn-based, and everything else about it is a console RPG with a mouse and keyboard.

Anyway, how can you not like Planescape: Torment?

Love your sig.....Thumbs%20Down

Their inclusion was debated for two years, and a lot of thought and effort was put into it.

Don't mean to be antagonistic but if you are going to put stuff like that in your sig,I can publicly say it angers me.
