I have the Eve Et Le Genie Du Mal EP where JP sings a song in English and he could pull off an English album, IMO.   I guess it would come down to comfort level and whether the uptick in sales would be very significant.  Nothing guaranteed in the business of music.

I think sales would go up for sure- but it's the bands option.

It's a choice to sing in French, because it's more natural for us. We're often told
that we would sell many more records if the songs were sung in English... What's your point of view ?
Maybe we'll try an album in English in the future, just to see if this is true. Would you
prefer us to sing in your language ?

3. Is there anywhere I can get your lyrics in English?

I'm afraid that you cannot...

4. Your band gives musical tributes (Dream Theater for example) in various songs. Is this improvised?
Or is it written in the music? What bands does Nemo listen to? (Prog and non-Prog)

Every quotation are from jamming, and it always give us fun :)
Sometimes we decide to record them, sometimes not. We all listen to very different stuff.
I'm a Hard Rock and a prog rock listener, and I like bands such as Porcupine Tree, The Flower kings,
Yes, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath... I guess Lionel loves the same bands, Guillaume likes stuff like
Peter Gabriel, Muse, Porcupine Tree and JB funk music and... Porcupine Tree :DD

5. How do you guys describe your music? Does the term "Progressive Rock" fit you? Smile

I'd say that Nemo is a kind of Hard progressive rock band, with additions of other musics we like
as Funk, Metal, Jazz or south american music... I think all that blend can be called "progressive rock".

6. What does the band do for fun? (When your not playing music)

Well, we all have a job, and I have two daughters. Music is our passion and we play as often as we can !

Salut JP,  Merci de prendre les temps de répondre a ces questions.

I particularly like your answer to question 5; that's a very good description of your sound, which is varied while based in that hard-(prog-)rock sound.

I have another question:
What does your family think of your music and how does the general music media and press respond to Nemo? Are you well known in France or just in the small "community" of prog rock?

Ooop, Did not see your latest replies, sorry !

Concerning the English singing : I don' really understand your post. Do you mean I'd be able to sing in English ? I personnally think it would be quite hard for me, but maybe we'll try in the future (if our sales never increase :D )

Concerning my music and family relationship : my girlfriend does not like prog music that much... But she loves parts of our songs :) My children are too young still (3 and 1)

In France, we are considered as one of the most famous new prog bands. But Prog is a very small community, and media are not involved in. So we stay a small band :D

thanks for these questions
cheers
JP

Will the limited edition be strictly sold on that website? Any chances of copies making it overseas to the USA?
If not, I'll pre-order the limited edition through Quadrifonic.

Hi !

Well, the 2CD edition is limited to 500 copies. We never had 500 preorders in the past, so I guess that there will be some copies remaining. If so, we'll send some to north american retailers (Syn-phonic and Kinesis) in January. But I also guess we won't be able to send them a lot of copies.

I understand that ordering through quadrifonic is really expensive for you, so we'll manage to find a solution for you :)

Thank you !

I'd be happy to order the limited edition from Kinesis if a few make it over to the States.  I see the first album remaster is available as well.  Need to get that.

Oh, and I ordered the first album yesterday and it is in route.  Only studio album I don't have yet.  JP, if you are out there, give us a little insight on how the new one turned out or how it compares to previous albums if you wouldn't mind.

p.s. hope you like the avatar

Hi there !

Yes, the new Nemo album is here :)
It's sold (almost) exclusively at www.quadrifonic.com until January 5. But I saw that some dealers already sell it in the USA (Lasercd.com) and in Germany (justforkicksmusic.de)

It's quite hard for me to describe our music, or to compare it... Just go to our myspace page to have a clue !

Yes, I see Ken has it at Laser.  He didn't put it on the front page yet, so I would have never seen it since I didn't think he would have it until next year.  Any limited editions coming to him or to Kinesis?
