I suggest to add Rabih Abou-Khalil, who is a master not only on the oud, the oriental lute, but also on the flute. here a link to his site at MySpace, where you can listen to some of his music:

I think he would be an excellent addition to this site. Friede and I discovered him 2 or 3 years ago when he gave a concert at the WDR house, home of a German radio station with 5 channels. he will play again there on September 8th this year, and we will definitely be there. not only is he a great musician, he also announces the songs or introduces the musicians with funny little nonsense stories. he has played with the top of the crop of European musicians, including Joachim Kühn and Michel Godard; actually Godard was in his band the night we saw him
