I suggest to add the band B For Bang, a group founded by classical pianist Katia Labeque, who is one half of the most famous classical piano duo in the world, the Labeque sisters. B For Bang made one album so far, "Across the Universe of Languages", consisting of Beatles covers. now before you go "how boring" I suggest you listen to them first; they did some highly original covers in which they completely deconstructed and rebuilt these songs. just have a listen here:
http://www.kmlrecordings.com/recordings/bforbang/videosbforbang.html
and take a look at the video too, which shows their version of "Dear Prudence"

Against my better judgement (I already spend too much on music), I did take a listen to those two videos. Extremely interesting stuff. I don't know enough to say whether they're prog or not, but they certainly don't seem inappropriate for the site and I did like them.

just bumping this thread with a link to the whole first album of the band, "Across the Universe of Languages":

here the track list:

01) Ouverture 0:29
02) Being For the Benefit of Mr. Kite 3:06
03) Interlude 1 1:00
04) Helter Skelter 3:41
05) Golden Slumbers 3:12
06) I Want You (feat. Katell Keineg) 3:59
07) Reminiscence 2:51
08) Happiness Is a Warm Gun (feat. Nadeah) 4:02
09) Julia 4:09
10) Interlude 2 0:23
11) Between Those Rocks 3:29
12) Interlude 3 0:19
13) Blackbird 4:20
14) Come Together 2:47
15) Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds (feat. Meg) 2:39
16) Notes to the Future (feat. Patti Smith) 2:39
17) The Last Man On Earth 6:52
18) One More Song (feat. Daniel Day Lewis) 4:21

most of the tracks float into each other. unfortunately I had to download the tracks one by one and connect them with a software. due to this there is an annoying little pause between any two tracks, even if they would float into each other; try to ignore it.

I think they fit into RIO/Avant

and here the other album of B For Bang called Rewires the Beatles:

track list:

1.  Tomorrow Never Knows 03:32
2.  I Am the Walrus 02:51
3.  Girl 03:53
4.  While My Guitar Gently Weeps 06:06
5.  Something 03:50
6.  Glass Onion 03:42
7.  Dear Prudence 06:26
8.  Because 03:11
9.  Get Back 03:12
10. I, Me, Mine 02:13
11. Why Don't We Do It In the Road 03:07
12. When I'm Sixty-Four 02:13

again I had to download the album track by track and connect the tracks with a special software, so there is sometimes an annoying pause for tracks that flow into each other; try to ignore it
