Received a friend request in Myspace from them and though I haven't listened yet I'm sure it will be of at least (and probably more) of interest to PAers.

Photobucket They made their international debut performance at the 2007 Rue Morgue Festival of Fear Shocktail Party. Joined by special guest Coralinia Cataldi-Tassoni, they were an instant success. Another special performance occured at horror magazine Rue Morgue's: Mask of the Red Death Haloween extravaganza.

ORCO MUTO peform a combinatin of orginal music and classic GOBLIN tracks with a unique 21st century vibe. An album of original material is in the works as well as additional performances at select Horror Festivals and events. Stay tuned here for updates and news of performances.

Composer, arranger, keyboardist, poly-instrumentalist, and software developer Maurizio Guarini was born in Rome, Italy in 1955. He started playing self-taught organ and guitar at age of 10. At 12/13 formed the first bands and started playing at school concerts. At the age of 14 Maurizio explored rock playing with several bands and then moved to progressive / jazz-rock. After graduating high school in 1973 he attended for a couple of years the math faculty at the University La Sapienza in Rome. During those years he played mainly jazz/Rock with Italian musicians, including among many Massimo Urbani and Roberto Della Grotta.

Photobucket Maurizio joined Goblin in 1975. The huge hit Profondo Rosso had the band touring Italy for the next couple of years as well as producing their first non-film related album, "Roller". Guarini temporarily left Goblin at the end of the recording of the Suspiria soundtrack, on November 1976.

He kept working as a performer and composer/arranger with the major artists on the scene, including Riccardo Cocciante, Gianni Morandi, Antonello Venditti, Mia Martini, Ivano Fossati, New Perigeo, Lucio Battisti, Adriano Pappalardo, Renato Zero, and Patty Pravo.

PhotobucketEventually Maurizio re-joined Goblin in late 1978, and participated in all their productions until 1983. Soundtracks from this period include work with Ennio Morricone, and Keith Emerson.

(Over the years, Goblin shared 2 keyboardists: Maurizio and Claudio Simonetti. Each plays keyboards in about 50% of Goblin productions. "Roller" and other small works from 1975/76 are the only exceptions with 2 keyboard players performing at the same time).

In parallel, during the early eighties, he started to become interested in software development and in 1983 realized the first midi card for Apple II ever made, named YUK. Software development involvement grew over the years, and expanded to non-music related applications. In early nineties Maurizio earned a bachelor in computer science.

PhotobucketGuarini moved to Canada in 1998 with his wife, Cinzia Cavalieri, whom he met during the recording of Volo in 1982.
Recent musical work includes documentary soundtracks, and the new BackToTheGoblin project, released in February 2006. BackToTheGoblin includes 4/5 of the original Goblin lineup from back in 1976: Maurizio Guarini, Fabio Pignatelli, Massimo Morante and Agostino Marangolo. Click here if you are interested in buying the album.

Aside from Orco Muto, Maurizio is currently working on a new Goblin album to be released in 2008.

He recorded five records, made numerous videos, and logged in many televison appearances with the band. Some highlights included their infamous stint as the house band for "Friday Night with Ralph Benmurgui" and, Lollapalooza shows alongside the Jim Rose Sideshow Circus, Rage Against the Machine, and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

Led by juno award winning saxophonist Richard Underhill, and rounded out with multi-instrumentalist JONO GRANT, this group is known for it's haunting textures, blistering solos, sound paintings, rhythmic explorations and breakneck jungle beats. The group has one self titled album out, and a new one in the works.

BOB's love for cartoon music and adventurous arrangements led him to form the acclaimed "cartoon jazz" collective know as STOOPY. This group plays original instrumental music in the vein of Carl Stalling, Raymond Scott, and Frank Zappa. The band includes: JONO GRANT (piano, guitar) , RICHARD UNDERHILL (saxophones), SARAH McCELCHERAN (trumpet), CHRIS GARTNER (bass), and BOB on drums. ROGER CLOWN is their featured vocalist. His debut album, VINTAGE ROGER CLOWN features the instumental work of STOOPY. The group has a new video from ROGER'S album, and their own instrumental debut album due out soon.

THINBUCKLE, led by BARENAKED LADIES keyboardist/guitarist KEVIN HEARN shows another side of BOB's versatilty. Since 1996, has recorded and performed with KEVIN, appearing on his debut album: MOTHBALL MINT, and subsequent albums H-WING, NIGHT LIGHT (featuring MARY MARGARET O'HARA, and the Band's GARTH HUDSON). WHIPPOORWILL is a new duo from the former LOOK PEOPLE rhythm section of Bob and, bassist/guitarist CHRIS GARTNER. This is an exciting and innovative group that creates a forest of sound and texture from just two people. SCOTT'S infamous drumming is augmented with electronic triggering and his own unique banjo playing. GARTNER plays composed guitar and bass loops live, switching instruments within the peices to create the illusion of a number of players at once. Dense multitracked soundscapes and live video projections round out this explosive new group.
