I can only agree to this. I have heard one single exception so far where double bass-drumming really fitted the music. the rest was just some guy with too much testosterone showing off: I know other people love double bass-drumming, but I think it is highly idiotic, whatever they say

Wait, I thought the double bass drum went thumpa thumpa thumpa thumpa thumpa, humpa thumpa thumpa thumpa thumpa, humpa thumpa thumpa thumpa thumpa, humpa thumpa thumpa thumpa thumpa, thoompa duumpa duumpa duumpa duumpa duumpa, thumpa dumpa thompa dumpa dumpa thompa dumpa dumpa dump dumpa...?

A necessity for drum solo's though, don't you think? Tongue

I don't think double is the problem, but rather how it's used. I really think it is terrible abused nowadays, but it can be used properly. Compare something like this, or this (primitive as-fast-as-possible bass drum style) to something like this, or this.

And this right here is the biggest piece of double bass propaganda you'll ever find.
