This thing has got to go!  I hope PA gets paid buckets from this sponsor because they are the biggest pain in the rear I've ever seen.  For two months, half the time I hit any link on the site, it brings up a classmates.com screen that I can't get out of.  Now today, a big pseudo window is popping up in the forums and you can't get rid of it and it blocks half of the top of the page.  Make it stop.  Yes, I know the ugly girl married the jock.  I don't care.

I just ran a search function on classmates.com and came up blank.  I can't believe this is only happening to me.

I've not seen these at all, perhaps you should get Ad Blocker and/or a pop-up blocker.

Maybe it is a U.S. thing.  Do you get the same ads in England as we get here?  Does classmates.com have an English division?   This thing is Evil, with a capital E.  I don't have problems with pop-ups.  I click on a link in PA and it stays in PA, but all you get is the big classmates.com ad.  The site is bogged down tremendously nowadays and this thing does not help.

I never have that problem because I'm running Adblock Plus.

It's free.  You just have to be using Firefox, which I would recommend you do anyway if you aren't doing so now.

I am on the latest Firefox 2 but will get the 3 and the adblock.  I certainly would like to fix it for myself, but I would think the admins would want to fix the underlying problem as well.  This certainly can't be good for business.

I'd love to get in touch with some of my old classmates, if you know what I mean... Nudge nudge, wink wink... Wink Wink

(I mean, obviously, that I'd like to play chess with them.)

I have yet to see this pop up. If you have all the nice Firefox add-ons, you shouldn't see anything of the like.
Just download NoScript and Ad Block Plus people, and thou shalt be fine. If you have Ad Block already, JUST ADD the offending images, GIFs, JPEGs, PNGs and whatever to your adblock list, that's all you have to do peopleThumbs%20Up

Well there not actuallly pop ups. There simply adds that appear when I click any link on the page(even in the forum). For example...if I click to go to the progressive metal sub genre on the main page instead of showing me that page(the genre page) the add appears. Clearly these adds don't appear all the time...but the times it appears is very frequent and are REALLY annoying.. I doubt that its my computer since like I said before I've been getting it in mine and other computers.

Will try that Harry. I'll post again in the coming days to see if it works.Thumbs%20Up

From what I can tell now, this is not a bug but an authorized deal that PA has instituted.  Since after these ads show up you can click on a link called "skip this ad", otherwise you will go to the correct page after a 15 second countdown.  If you click "skip this ad" you will go right to the link.  Unless someone tells me different, I am assuming this is not a bug.  It is not a pop-up, per se.  The whole screen has the ad.
