Don't get me started on Quicksilver - possibly THE BEST of the bunch, followed closely by the Airplane. Love the QMS debut - Gold And Silver, and The Fool. Sterling efforts, if I do admit.

Friede and I recently bought a quite interesting CD: Bach's "Goldberg Variations" arranged for string trio, played by the Swiss Chamber Soloists (Hanna Weinmeister - violin, Jürg Dähler - viola and Thomas Grossenbacher - violoncello). a very refreshing new aural view of the Goldberg Variations

At the end of the first listen I discovered the 12 + minute song The Fool. I think these guys and Jefferson Airplane had the most talented musicians in the San Francisco music scene at the time.

Great album,.....mine was shot and the cover badly worn so needed to replace it.
Embarrassed

I'd love to find this on vinyl......been looking for years in the local shops.....keep hoping I'll find it in a bargain bin somewhere where no one knows how much it's worth.  Wink

^  No, you're not the only blues fan here  Smile

3xLP box set with eleven alternate takes + a lyrics booklet and poster.
Found this on ebay a few years ago. It was listed as used but is in excellent
condition (LPs and packaging) with no signs of wear.

I've already posted this in the Vinyl thread, but I guess I will post it here, too.

A 180 g reissue of Moving Gelatine Plates' self-titled debut.

Back in the early seventies I bought several blues albums on vinyl by Muddy Waters, Taj Mahal, Mississippi Fred McDowell and others.
I also got into the British blues movement with Clapton/Mayall, early Fleetwood Mac, Savoy Brown, Chicken Shack, etc.

Love those early Brit Blues things and I have Savoy, Shack, TYA, Mac, Mayall, Groundhogs, etc.....but for some reason I never investigated the American blues origins at the time. Wasn't till years later I looked for those.
