Who.
PFM, the legendary Italian progressive rock band, is back to Toronto for an unforgettable concert.
The show is a journey through their extraordinary career.
PFM developed a style which is uniquely Italian while maintaining links with the rest of the prog world.
A lyrical, romantic and delicate music, full of fineness, a great melodic and instrumental richness, sumptuous compositions and arrangements.
Sometimes compared with the early KING CRIMSON, the group had its own musical personality, with its elegant music.
In 1975 Melody Maker, the well known UK music magazine, placed them at 2nd place in “Brightest Hope” chart, where 1st place was for Camel, 3rd for Supertramp and 5th for Eagles.
Recording internationally for Manticore, the Emerson,Lake&Palmer’s owned label, being produced by Pete Sinfield, the poet of King Crimson who also wrote English lyrics for them, they entered Billboard charts in 1973 with the album Photos of Ghosts that got the award in Japan as the best album of the year.
"Per Un Amico" ("Photos of Ghosts") and "L'Isola Di Niente" as well as their first, "Storia Di Un Minuto" are all virtual classics of progressive music, obviously influenced by early KING CRIMSON and GENESIS yet sounding nothing like them. The instrumentation is superb with fluid guitar, highly original synthesizer sounds, beautiful violin and flute, and ethereal vocals that are so important to the music.

Great news - however, when is PFM going to explore the Central and Eastern Europe?

They should make a Philadelphia stop, there's plenty of places to play here.

Someone in another thread started a rumour about PFM touring in north america including Mexico, which is not confirmed of course....but i hope....i hope they can come  once more

Quebec City concert is confirmed: Le Grand Theatre de Quebec.
Tickets will go on sale by the end of this week

Not the same show in Toronto and Quebec City : 35 anni e un minuto in Toronto (kind of retrospective), and Statti di Immaginazione in Quebec City. I might have to see both.....

I may just have to go.
Though,when they were here in Toronto 2 years ago,I thoughy they were a little bit off.
Same old set list from forever.
I might just have to give them another chance.
Better venue this time.

Why they were a little bit off?
As far as I remember they played 80% of their early seventies production, that was a smart move after 30 years of absence from Canada: and I enjoyed a lot the concert.
the venue was horrible.....
I'm in Italy right now and had the chance to attend a 35 concert on saturday: if I'm not wrong, only 5 or 6 songs are the same of 2005 set list and the concert is well balanced through their entire production.
Only album as Jet Lag, Passpartu, Miss Baker and Ulisse are not present with a song.
The difference in between the 2 concerts is in the energy: 35 is more energetic, more rock and fun and less ethereal.
In Quebec is Stati di Immaginazione and Stati is 101% pure progressive show: the focus is on Stati, played almost entirely, and progressive pieces.
Just a couple  of pop songs.
