Oniric (see also: http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=38942&KW=oniric&PID=2541739#2541739) are confirmed me that their two Ep are two official Ep with self production.

I confirm that this is sentence for construction a page for Oniric (Post? Psych? electronic?).

Another info are at these two internet sites:

Listening now.  Good music.  I think that the post-rock team should check this out (if they haven't already -- I'll mention it to them).

Interesting band, I'm listening now.

Okay I've listen to some of their tracks on their myspace and I don't think their post rock or even related. They do have that atmospheric feel simialr to post rock  and somehow some moments feel like post rock but this doesn't seem to be their intention.

I might think about it after a few listens cause this is a really difficult one.

The post rock similarities do seem rather superficial.  I'll give a proper listen later too.  I think Xover might be able to help with this one, but will think about it more myself before soliciting their opinion.

I did thought about suggesting it to another genre but even I'm not sure about them being prog. Do let me know what you think about them before you do so.

One of major Oniric influences is a band called... Pink Floyd!

Yeah I kind of noticed in their influences...I've been listening to their most recent demos and there are some post rock influence but I think another genre would be more proper.

This is not a great problem. Listening to their first Ep can catalogue as ambient RPI. However, this does not apply to the second Ep. Oniric have sought to recover Pink Floyd of Syd Barrett of trying to update. I have not had the opportunity to listen to Sigur Ros but from descriptions I read, I could say, first hand, that the musical concept is similar. Claiming that they are RPI would be possible. However use only guitars and synth and this does not allow us to say this. Precisely because of the many differences between the two Ep able to find a Prog genre going well for Oniric is difficult. Saying that Oniric are electronic could fit. But in their case does not mean anything.

This is what I could understand listening carefully their Eps.

http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=38942 is about the same band. I've asked the admins to close this one so we can keep information in one place.

Hmmm. Looks like the other thread got closed instead of this one. Oh well.

Oniric were accepted for Crossover, but pending an album release. The band mailed me today, telling me the two EPs are demos and should be considered as such, so we cannot include them right now. A full blown album is in the making, and will be released some time this year. Whether independently or through a label is not clear at this time.

Until they notify me of the release and album details of that debut album, they will not be included.

(no worries, they won't be forgotten: I have them registered in my pending 'out-of-unsigned' list, and in my mail contacts)

Well... I would like to know because they told me they were not demos but official  self produced Eps...
I began to have suspicions towards this band. I contacted Loris Furlan (Lizard Records) to see if he was interested to Oniric. He was very surprised by Oniric but then... He did backtrack saying to me that there were financial problems on the Lizard Records... Loris subsequently contacted me and told me that he was interested in this band but had frozen his interest for Oniric  not give any other explanation.

Then they told me one thing and to you another thing. I would say that you have lost a fan (and a friend in My Space). And I regret very much because Oniric deserve a place in PA!

So I no longer interested in promoting Oniric and what they decide on their not affect me in any way.

You puzzle me, Andrea... I never said they don't deserve a place here.
I'm only applying the rules that apply to any band - I can even forward you the e-mail I got from the band saying that the two EPs are demos (they aren't called demos on their web site for nothing, by the way). The album is on it's way, so chances are very big that they will be added later this year.

I only expressed my opinion, expression of the moment (Wink)...

I hope that all their projects turn out well... But I do not understand why I have said that they had not considered demos Eps but self produced albums!

In any case I did not have anything against your decision (right), but I had the grievances with the Oniric!

P.s.: Hey see Luca Olivieri's thread... Great music... And sure great (and important) Italian musicians (he work with many bands and projects with international success) but that for the besty expression of his ideas hasve published a solo self produced album called 'La Quarta Dimensione', recorded in his recording studios.

Hi Andrea, clear now - thanks!

I was planning on checking out Luca Olivieri, came across his name somewhere else on the forums as well. Right now I'm enjoying Il Bacio della Medusa.

BDM... Well ... I forgot this purchase!

About Luca Olivieri... It is difficult to find labels available to publish some work... Even if your name is a famous name... Hence the decision to publish and sell the CD (at € 10.00 in Italy) in self production!
