I am a Pommard fan .But let your palate decide while listening to good prog! LOL
I never post anything anywhere without doing more than basic research, often in depth.

Don't know French that well - usually only drink Italian or American.  Thanks for giving me a list to try!

I like our California Cabernets and Merlots, but Chateauneuf de Pape does come to mind

I actually attended a blind test and the Mondavi Reserve speciale actually was a hands down winner over A Mouton Lafitte Rotschild , so Its not that the french are better. The list here is expensive but must be tried at least once in a lifetime!  A mean, a Romanee Conti , vintage =wow! California wines are superb, BTW , as well as fab Oz, Italian, Hungarian, Chilean and even South African wines.

Well, I really got into the Italian stuff on a trip to Italy, so I think a visit to France is in order.  Wink

The closest I usually get to a fine French wine is a Chateau la Feet at the local wino-ery.  It's genuine foot stomped grapes squelched between toes during drunken hoedowns (purportedly made with 10% real hoe).  It comes in three varieties: the sportsman's choice, Chateau la Athletes Feet; the relatively mild Chateau la Stinky Feet, and the very potent Chateau la Extra Stinky Feet, and all have an unusual corny aftertaste.  If you're lucky, your bottle might even have corns in it.  It's genuwino foot stomped wine for foot stompingly good times, or so they might say.
