the cons and pros of public service...also I hate public transport strikes in Paris.. I support public service especially when it comes to culture....
Présences is a festival for contemporary music organized every year by Radio France the public French Radio over five weekends ....and all concerts  are free!!

now big surprise while you find normally names like Ligeti, Cage & Berio this season there is one concert mainly dedicated to Prog  the 21/03/09 :

the progarmm:

H.K.Gruber : Frankenstein
John Adams: Scratchband
Frank Zappa: The Dangerous Kitchen
Alain Thibault : Volt
ELP : Tarkus
King Crimson : Lark's Tongues...
Genesis : Wathcher Of...
Yes : Close To The Edge

the musicians:

Maitrise De Radio France (choir)
Ensemble de percussion Sixtrum de Montréal
SMCQ (Ensemble De La Société De Musique Contemporain du Québec )

René Bosc  & Walter Boidreau (direction)

it's a great building with very good acoustics, so if you happen to be in Paris let your family do some shopping and join me there!

Tadpoles keep screaming in my ear
"Hey there! Rotter's Club!
Explain the meaning of this song and share it"

Sounds exciting, Martin! I might be up for that.

It's a bit close to the RIO fest 2 dates, but I'll check if I can double-score.
