So what is your favorite self titled album out of these?

I tried to be as diverse as possible and branch out across the subgenres.

Don't you think putting the album title was a little redundant?

I'm certain someone here would have helpfully mentioned that he left off the album titles.

Hmm... Rush, Gryphon, GG, ELP, or Caravan... I'll go with Caravan. That's actually a really good album.

Of those I've actually heard UK is my fave.
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

You did wrong on putting ELP's, it will obviously take the most votes.

Anyways, I don't know all of those. From the ones I own, these are the ones I really enjoy: Camel's, ELP's, Yes's, Supertramp's and UK's.
While I would clasify UK's and ELP's as one of the best debuts in Prog, these are the ones I less enjoy. Supertramp's debut is lovely as well as Yes's while Camel is a mix of canterbury, fusion, heavy, symphonic. These 3 will recieve the less votes, so I'll vote for one of them and that's Camel.

ELP's debut is my least favorite of their good records (I gave it two stars).

Out of these, I think I'll go with Yes.  "Beyond and Before" and "Survival" are two great songs.  I wish they would do them live.

Was it your "Yes Imaginary Concert"? I put Yours is no Disgrace with medley of Survival, it would fit awesomely when the wah-wah solo of Yours is no Disgrace would mix with Survival's intro

Neu! - Neu!

My personal favourite (not included in the poll) would be

Black Sabbath-Black Sabbath which includes the track 'Black Sabbath'.

Do 'The Stanley' otherwise I'll thrash you with some rhubarb.

Yeah, Sabbath's is another of those amazing debuts. All great tracks.
Oh, and Zep's! Killer heavy blues album.

As SOFT MACHINE self titled  debut is obviously missing,Cry....my choice is easily HATFIELD AND THE NORTH, a marvel of finesse, virtuosity, great vocals, originality....

UK is #2!

Great original poll besides Soft Machine missing, but maybe you thought  the Softs would have gotten all the votesLOLWink

And a 4th vote for Kansas.  Maybe you should modify the poll Smile
