Topic: PA's Battle to Stardom B7: Le Orme v. Hawkwind Posted: December 07 2008 at 12:30 |
I'd say one of your girls looking at the stature and enhancements.

Who happen to be two of my favourite bands of all time, I'm not even going to vote on this one.

I've heard several songs from a number of their 70's albums and I think a few from more recent ones as well. With Le Orme I only have Uomo Di Pezza and Felona e Sorona so I cant calim to be an expert of either band but I know enough to say which bands I prefer, RPI just generally appeals to me more the Psyche/Space rock does. Havnt seen either band live, and I dont think I'm likely to, but you never know.

Le Orme. Except for Hall of the Mountain Grill, I've always had a hard time with the band. To be honest, I have a hard time making it through an entire album by them. I guess they're just not my personal taste. Still though, why the hell isn't this poll much closer?

Just check out these wonderful lyrics from the Golden Void:
The golden void speaks to me denying my reality I lose my body, lose my mind, I blow like wind, flow like wine Down a corridor of flame, will I fly so high again Is there something wrong with me, I cannot hear, I cannot see Down a corridor of flame So you think the time is past, the life you lead will always last Chaotic fusions of your soul, down below that rocky knowle Through the clouds an open sky, the wind flows through your watering eyes The sounds are pitched to draw you on your never ending journey on The edge of time, the edge of time, the edge of time
Brilliant, I say

Aaarghh. Can't believe the Hawks are being wiped out! Another vote for them from me.
I'm afraid I know very little Le Orme, and am really interested in hearing more. However I cannot allow this slaughter to continue so it's a vote for Hawkwind, not that it'll make much difference I'm afraid.

Hawkwind, although I've never heard a second of Le Orme. Not that it will matter at this point in the poll
I too thought this run would be closer.

Well this is a really hard one i have mostly the Hawkwind discography and also the Le Orme discography.
I like ver much the classic line up of the mighty hawks and sympathize with Lemmy and Dave Brock a lot.
I think that Space Ritual is among the top 5 live albums of all time of any music genre.
I love the "Calvert Years" a lot.
For other part Le Orme with his brilliant discography (i have all the albums) simply engages me the sound textures, the brilliant musicianship captivate my senses.
Their brilliant albums that they have, specially Collage, Uomo Di Pezza, Felona e sorona, Contrapunti, Veritanacoste and Storia o Leggenda are unsurpassed masters.
The voice of Tagliaprieta is excellent.
The keyboards of Pagliuca are among the best that i ever heard.
So my vote is for Le Orme, sorry Sonic Assassins
