KHEMEÏA develops an original approach of rock and metal music by using invented language (influenced by MAGMA's Kobaïan) and treating the voice as an instrument : J. Nechtschein makes use of Mongol diphonic singing and Indian chanting techniques, and aerial melodies alternate with metal / hardcore shouts. Thus NUSRAT FATEH ALI KHAN could be claimed as an influence for the band, at least as much as TOOL or SEPULTURA, which allows KHEMEÏA to create a fiery and positive music.

Interesting idea, just not sure they pull it off...

Added them to the PMT chart.

Thanks.

It doesn't work for me (not sure that they're good enough to pull it off), and I was reluctant in the past to bring it up....  Some good vocals, anyway.

I like to see a band combining un likely music together, right now I'd say a lot of the time they sound like any other metalcore band but I hear lots of very promising things. I could see this band evolving into something very interesting.

Okay, just gave all their myspace space a listen.
Mixed feelings about it.
Some of it sounded like complete crap if I must be honest, while some of it was kinda cool and quirky.

Will check it tomorrow.
Too tired to evaluate properly now.

This can't possibly go into Zeuhl or avant, as much as I like the idea. LOL I'll bump this into the PMT Collab Thread.
