Yoshie Fruchter is a guitarist who has a quartet, Pitom, consisting of himself, bass, drums and violin. The sound is a blend of traditional Jewish music, Jazz/Fusion and Avantgarde. The album is released on Joh Zorn's Tzadik label.  Frequently groove oriented, it reminds me a lot of the sounds coming from the Japanese Zeuhl/RIO scene. Here are some live clips on youtube that have amazingly high quality sound for live youtube video.

I picked up the album on a whim today while browsing the "world Music" section. tasty stuff.

I just started listening to it, and have added it to the Eclectic chart.  This is excellent. Thumbs Up

Hey, I added it to the chart five days ago (I call that almost mouldy LOL), though I forgot to vote (others had already).  I can safely vote move now :P and change the section status to move. It's another one that I would have been fine with in Eclectic, but Avant makes sense.EDIT: I'm starting to think that Avant should become a subcategory of Eclectic. :P

Avant is, commonly, the more experimental side of Eclectic Prog (perceived degree often determines fit).  And Avant would have its subcategories too.

I don't imagine that the Avant team would want to be relegated to such a subordinate subcategory position, though. LOL
