Topic: Harmonium vs PFM vs SBB Posted: March 03 2009 at 05:47 |
I was just listening to the Depuis L'Automne sample and thought how much better PFM were? There are similarities between their musical styles and since Harmonium is rated so highly I though it might make a good poll. I threw in my favourite SBB album for good measure. Quebec vs Italy vs Poland

Si On Avait... blows Per Un Amico out of the water for effect, now I've got it. Took a while to catch on, but it really is a beautiful record. Per Un Amico is a bit too watery and clean for my liking.

Si on avait... has worked better lately, but Per un amico is a great album as well (though not as good as Storia di un minuto or Stati di immaginazione). Haven't heard that SBB album so I won't vote. Perhaps I should give more time to the SBB albums I have, the two first ones.

How could people not choose Si on Avait? It is so beautiful! It is one of the few perfect albums that exist!

Si on avait is extremely overrated. I have hundreds of albums better than that and rarely bother to play it, though it's in no way offensive - just bland.
Per un Amico is better - still not a great album, but I enjoy it.

PFM!
Is Harmonium even prog? And I don't mean that the mildness makes me think that... Soft music but not even beautiful, and yes, it is somehow different than many other music but I think it's just little artistic folk pop

Si on avait is a nice album. but yes.. it doesn't rank up there with the greatest of prog albums. Per Un Amico should..err.. is anyway. Wouldn't be surprised if it was on pretty much all prog sites.

Too easy: Si on avait... even if PFM is great Harmonium win this poll, no doubt.
P.S.: Message for Hercules. Si on avait... is NOT over-rated. It deserves its rate.

PFM! (and that Harmonium album is grossly overrated for some reason.)

Too damn hard, can't vote! I'm not well enough acquainted with Harmonium, but I have a feeling if I were it would only be MORE impossible to say.
|
Why must my spell-checker continually underline the word "prog"?

All 3 albums are great, but Harmonium gets my vote.

Really tough poll. I'm escaping bu laying a sympathy vote for SBB, amazing band! Too less known, it seems.
