The easiest way to keep up with new dates is to visit The Syn's official myspace page at:

http://www.myspace.com/thesyn

I will be glad to post them here should mods wish me to.

Best,

Perhaps you could post those already planned please, so that interested members can see if there's one near them.

i thought chris squire was recovering from a blood clot and needed to be  off foir recovery time?

i would love to see chris live  but i would love for him to live longer   , even bill bruford retired  as shocking as that is.

this constant touring is why rick wakeman  didn't want to go on the 40th tour  .

jon anderson  had  health issues  and cancelled    and then chris   .

i rant     forgive me   , i just don't  like when my heroes  get sick.

Correct. However The Syn now has the talents of:

Steve Nardelli (founding member)
Francis Dunnery (x-It Bites; toured with The Robert Plant Band)
Tom Brislin (Yes Symphonic; Spiraling)
Echolyn's Brett Kull and Paul Ramsey
and
Dorie Jackson on backing vocals (will join tour during European leg)

Here is what Dorie (signed to Aquarian Nation Records) just had to say about Big Sky in her blog:

http://www.aquariannation.com/Dorie%20Jackson/DorieJackson.htm

January 23, 2009: Hello!

I've just returned from a week in Pennsylvania recording vocals for the new 'Syn' album, 'Big Sky'.

It was -12 degrees celsius, all around was white and the snow was coming down like magic. It couldn't have been a better back drop for creativity.

I had been introduced to Steve Nardelli (The Syn) at Francis Dunnery's charity weekend last October at the start of his tour. Backstage, on the first night, Francis said, "Dorie, this is Steve, check out his song, you're going to be singing it in the set" and there were more brilliant songs to boot. By the end of the tour, Steve had played with us a couple of times and there were excited talks about the forthcoming album which Francis was going to produce, consequently, I was delighted to be asked to hold 10 days free at the beginning of January for recording.

Francis and I had 4 days to get started before Steve arrived, so we set out at the top of each song, listening, singing, debating, drinking copious amounts of coffee and recording our parts. Steve's songs are quite brilliant. Vocally they are each their own journey with startling unpredictability, both melodically and lyrically, whilst the music intricately ventures in and out of his progressive rock routes. By the time Steve arrived, we had 5 finished, and before he'd had a chance to listen to what we had done, we set him to work writing some lyrics for a part we had come up with for one of the songs.

It was truly a pleasure to sing on and be involved in, we had a really productive week and I'm left back in Blighty desperate to hear the finished product as the songs have been going round and round in my head!

Thanks for the continued interest, APS. :)  The Syn's new cd, 'Big Sky', featuring this great lineup will be out in April. Portions of it should be available in multi-media downloadable format on Amazon.com in March. I find that in working on some other projects with Amazon, however, that they are backlogged in going live with their downloads so who knows if March will actually work. As you know from the Yes Symphonic dvd, Brislin is a dazzling keyboardist. And wait until you catch Francis Dunnery - he is a great musician (and is the producer for Big Sky as well).

Best,

:)Steve S-N

I wish the venture well and sounds like an interesting line up...I saw the Syn in late 2005 I think it was with Mr Squire on bass (of course what else!?). (Me and Sigod went, at the Marquee I recall!) Without prying into the details - I don't know them! - there seems to have been friction and chris left - about which i think he said something fairly terse on his web site at the time....so be aware you won't be seeing Chris with the Syn anytime soon, anyhow enough history.......!!

Thanks for the good wishes, Phil. I know that you and everyone who goes to see this Syn lineup will really be impressed. And wait until you hear the new album, 'Big Sky'! Steve Nardelli is back in the USA at present doing the final mixing with Francis and Brett. We are only a short time away - before the end of the month, in fact - from the release of some tracks off of the album for radio play. The actual cd release will take place in mid-April, shortly before the tour begins. The cd release is tied to some special events which is why so late before the tour. But believe you me, it will be worth the wait.

Best,

:)Steve S-N
