^Not anything nice...

Apparently there's some doubt whether they're using the most recent, best remasters for some of the latest albums. I read the thread at Amazon and someone said that in USA they're still selling some very old cd versions, but in Japan they have better remasters. Those catalogue numbers on that album list would indicate that perhaps the older versions are used...

Rob a bank. Or better yet, rob a record store and cut out the middle step.

I read that too. What is the quality on the US versions? Is it remarkably worse than the Japanese remasters? Not that it matters, there isn't a bank around these parts with enough money to buy it with anyways.

The US remasters are good, but they're not excellent. The Japanese copies are very clean and crisp, but unless you have an audiophile system, the difference is pretty small.I love the Japanese OBI strips though!

Wow, that is some box set!
Somebody somewhere is currently plotting to set a world record by listening to the whole lot in one go.

A lovely package to own but more Miles Davis than I need or want. At least that's what I'll tell myself because i can't afford it.

If I come into a large sum of money in the near future I'd own this.

Weirdly it's available from some regional Amazon sites but not all. Of the Europeans at least France and Germany have it, and Germany has it about 50 euros cheaper. So you interested Europeans get it here: http://www.amazon.de/Complete-Columbia-Album-Collection/dp/B002EOF7U8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1254799427&sr=8-1

Over the years i have borrowed a number of Miles Davis albums from the local library,  has anyone on this site listened to them all ?

Apart from "Jack Johnson", "Man with the horn" and parts of "Bitches Brew" which i really love  i found the few others i listened to from his early years extremely tedious and repetative, and the later ones very hip-hop and ethnic,  it would be a brave punter who  would attempt to sit through all the albums in this set, try before you buy!  Confused

So far I've heard about ten albums from his Columbia output and I've enjoyed them all more or less. My favourite is probably On the Corner which falls into that hip-hop/ethnic category I guess Tongue I just found the Complete On the Corner Sessions from Spotify and started going through it.

I thought this was going to be a Amazon exclusive release, but at least Levykauppa Äx in Finland is offering this one as well. Still I get it about 50 euros cheaper from the German Amazon.

That's only 28kr per album! Clap
I like Miles Davis and all, but 52 albums is a bit too much. I think i'll pass on this one
