They are an underground black/death symphonic styled metal band, musically they cross with Wolves in the Throne Room with something akin to late Emperor. Basically, they present the atmospheric qualities of progressive black metal with melodies of gothic and symphonic metal. They can be heard on myspace at http://www.myspace.com/astralwinter0

Astral Winter will be added to the progressive metal chart for evaluation. Which album would you suggest listening to if we need to listen to more than the myspace samples?

Their only current released material is a EP/Demo called Illustrations of Death. Their myspace consists of all of the EP. Im not entirely sure if just having an EP qualifies them, but I figured they were worth a little attention.

As far as I know it has to be a release that can be purchased. If itīs an EP that should qualify. As mentioned I will add them to the PMT chart for evaluation. Hereīs another artist with just an EP release for reference: http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=2243

Ok, the album can be purchased for 10 dollars (so they say) at http://immortalfrostproductions.cjb.net so as far as availability goes, it should qualify.

Hmm...Iīve listened to the myspace samples and to my ears this is symphonic and melodic black metal. I wouldnīt call it progressive. Theyīve been added to the PMT chart on ProgFreak for evaluation though so letīs see what the other members of the team have to say about them.

I voted no. You've got a vote for NO from me and Jonas. You may want to try for prog related.
